In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing:

It was the first year of the rule of Cyrus. He was king of Persia. The Lord inspired him to send a message all through his kingdom. It happened so that what the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah would come true. The message was written down. It said,

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the Lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom:

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken through Jeremiah, the LORD roused the spirit of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia— in order to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah— the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he sent a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,

In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The Lord put it into the mind of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD[ spoken] by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and[ put it] also in writing, saying,

In the first year of the reign of King Cyrus of Persia, in fulfillment of the promise he delivered through Jeremiah, the LORD moved King Cyrus of Persia to issue a written decree throughout his kingdom.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that Yahweh’s word by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

七十年后，我要报应巴比伦王和他国民迦勒底人的罪，使他们的土地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

耶和华说：“你们被掳到巴比伦七十年期满后，我就要眷顾你们，成就我充满恩典的应许，把你们带回这地方。

波斯王塞鲁士元年，耶和华为要应验祂借耶利米所说的话，就感动波斯王塞鲁士，使他下诏通告全国：“波斯王塞鲁士如此说，‘天上的上帝耶和华已把天下万国都赐给我，祂吩咐我在犹大的耶路撒冷为祂建造殿宇。你们当中凡是耶和华的子民，都可以去犹大的耶路撒冷，为住在耶路撒冷的以色列的上帝耶和华建殿，愿上帝与他们同在！

这就应验了耶和华借耶利米之口所说的话：这片土地享受了安息，它在荒凉中守安息，直到满了七十年。

波斯王塞鲁士执政第三年，但以理，又名伯提沙撒，得到启示。这启示是真实的，是关于一场大争战的事。但以理通过异象明白了启示的意思。

于是，犹大和便雅悯的族长、祭司和利未人——所有被上帝感动的人都准备上耶路撒冷重建耶和华的殿。

耶和华说：“你们说犹大的城邑和耶路撒冷的街道一片荒凉、人畜绝迹，但这些地方必传出欢乐声、新郎新娘的欢笑声和在耶和华殿中献感恩祭者的歌唱声，“‘要感谢万军之耶和华，因为耶和华是美善的，祂的慈爱永远长存’。因为我必使被掳的人回到故土，重建家园。这是耶和华说的。”万军之耶和华说：“在这一片荒凉、人畜绝迹的地方，在它所有城邑的周围必再有供牧人放羊的草场。在山区、丘陵和南地的城邑，以及便雅悯、耶路撒冷周围和犹大的城邑必有人清点羊群。这是耶和华说的。”耶和华说：“看啊，时候将到，我要实现我给以色列人和犹大人的美好应许。

我说塞鲁士是我的牧人，他必完成我的旨意，他会下令重建耶路撒冷，降旨奠定圣殿的根基。“我耶和华膏立塞鲁士为王，我牵着他的右手帮助他征服列国、降服列王；我使城门洞开，让他通行无阻。我对他说，‘我要走在你前面，为你铲平高山，打破铜门，砍断铁闩。我要把隐藏的宝物和秘密收藏的财富赐给你，好叫你知道点名呼召你的是我——以色列的上帝耶和华。虽然你不认识我，但为了我的仆人雅各，我所拣选的以色列，我还是点名呼召你，赐给你一个尊贵的名号。我是独一无二的耶和华，除我以外再没有上帝。虽然你不认识我，但我还是赐你力量。

看啊，我要驱使玛代人来攻击他们。玛代人不在乎金子，也不看重银子，他们必用弓箭射死青年，不怜悯婴儿，也不顾惜孩童。

“‘我曾降下这一切灾祸给他们，我也要把我应许的福乐赐给他们。这是耶和华说的。耶利米啊，你们说这地方落在了迦勒底人手中，变得一片荒凉，人兽绝迹。但将来这地方必再有人置买田产。在便雅悯境内，耶路撒冷周围和犹大的城邑，以及山区、丘陵、南部的城邑中，必有人置买田地，签订地契，盖封印，请人作证，因为我必使被掳的人回到故土。这是耶和华说的。’”

上帝又使以利亚大的儿子利逊兴起，与所罗门为敌。这人从他主人琐巴王哈大底谢身边逃走后，

我已向我拣选的士兵发出命令，我已号召我的勇士去倾倒我的烈怒，他们因我的胜利而欢喜。听啊，山上人声鼎沸，像是大军的声音。那是列邦列国聚集呐喊的声音。万军之耶和华正在召集军队，准备作战。他们从地极，从天边而来。那是耶和华及倾倒祂烈怒的兵器，要来毁灭大地。

耶和华驱使非利士人和古实附近的阿拉伯人攻打约兰。

因此，以色列的上帝驱使亚述王普勒，即提革拉·毗尼色，把吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半个支派的人掳到哈腊、哈博、哈拉和歌散河边，他们至今还在那里。

耶和华感动撒拉铁的儿子犹大省长所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚和所有的余民，他们就动工建造他们的上帝万军之耶和华的殿，

通告犹大和耶路撒冷的人民要将上帝的仆人摩西在旷野为以色列人定的税带来献给耶和华。

于是，他们下令通告全以色列，从别示巴直到但，让人们到耶路撒冷向以色列的上帝耶和华守逾越节，因为人们不常照律例守这节期。

我主我王，请听仆人说，如果是耶和华使你与我作对，愿祂悦纳我献上的祭物；如果这是出于人的主意，愿他们在耶和华面前受咒诅。因为他们赶我离开耶和华所赐的产业，叫我去服侍外族人的神明。

他们必受许多国家和强大君王的奴役，我要按他们的所作所为报应他们。”

我们要坚定不移地持守我们所认定的盼望，因为赐应许的那位是信实的。

耶和华使以东王的后裔哈达兴起，与所罗门为敌。
