看守耶穌的人嘲弄祂，毆打祂，蒙住祂的眼睛，對祂說：「說預言吧！是誰在打你？」

猶大王西底迦囚禁了他，責問他為什麼預言說：「耶和華說，『看啊，我要讓巴比倫王攻佔這座城。

我呼喚你們，你們卻充耳不聞；我向你們招手，你們卻視若無睹。你們漠視我的勸誡，不接受我的責備。因此，你們遭遇災難時，我必發笑；驚恐臨到你們時，我必嗤笑——那時，恐懼如風暴襲擊你們，災難如旋風臨到你們，憂愁和苦難吞沒你們。你們呼求我，我也不回答；你們懇切地尋找我，卻找不到。因為你們厭惡知識，不願意敬畏耶和華，不接受我的勸誡，又藐視我的責備。所以，你們必自食其果，因自己的惡謀而吃盡苦頭。

他們肆無忌憚地嘲弄我，咬牙切齒地憎惡我。

希律和他的衛兵嘲弄侮辱耶穌，給祂穿上華麗的袍子，把祂押回彼拉多那裡。

有些人就譏笑說：「他們不過是被新酒灌醉了！」

人子將被交在外族人的手裡，被他們嘲弄、虐待、吐唾沫、

所以，人若拒絕遵行這命令，他不是拒絕人，而是拒絕賜聖靈給你們的上帝。

聽見保羅提到死人復活的事，有些人就嘲笑他，還有些人說：「我們改天再聽你講這個。」

法利賽人向來貪財，他們一面聽一面嗤笑耶穌。

現在你們不要再譏諷了，以免捆綁你們的繩索勒得更緊，因為我已從主——萬軍之耶和華那裡聽到毀滅全國的諭旨。

於是，他們拿住耶利米，用繩子把他縋到王子瑪基雅的蓄水池裡。那池子在護衛兵的院子裡，池中沒有水，只有淤泥。耶利米就陷在淤泥中。

要歡喜快樂，因為你們在天上有很大的獎賞。他們也曾這樣迫害以前的先知。

耶和華啊，你欺騙我，我被你騙了。你制伏我，勝過我。如今，我成了人們終日嘲笑、戲弄的對象。

士兵們也戲弄祂，拿了些酸酒上前給祂喝，

上帝啊，外族人侵佔你的產業，玷污你的聖殿，使耶路撒冷淪為廢墟。他們把你僕人的屍體餵飛鳥，把你忠心子民的屍體給野獸吃，使耶路撒冷周圍血流成河，屍體無人埋葬。我們成了列國羞辱的對象，周圍的人都嗤笑、譏諷我們。耶和華啊，你向我們發怒，要到何時呢？難道要到永遠嗎？你的怒火要燒到何時呢？

「你們再聽一個比喻。有個園主栽種了一個葡萄園，在園子的四周建造圍牆，又在園中挖了一個榨酒池，建了一座瞭望臺，然後把葡萄園租給佃戶，就出遠門了。到了收穫的季節，園主派奴僕到佃戶那裡收果子。但那些佃戶卻抓住他的奴僕，打傷一個，殺死一個，又用石頭打死了一個。於是，園主又派更多的奴僕去，結果也遭到同樣的對待。最後，園主派了自己的兒子去，心想，『他們肯定會尊重我的兒子。』然而，那些佃戶看見園主的兒子來了，就商量說，『這是園主的繼承人。來吧！我們殺掉他，佔了他的產業！』於是，他們抓住他，把他推出園外殺了。那麼，當園主回來的時候，他會怎樣處置那些佃戶呢？」他們說：「他會毫不留情地除掉那些惡人，然後把葡萄園租給其他按時交果子的佃戶。」
