猶大眾民便將烏西雅設立為王、來接替他父親亞瑪謝：那時他十六歲。

但是猶大地的人民卻擊殺了所有共謀反叛亞們王的人。猶大地的人民立了他的兒子約西亞接替他作王。

約西亞的兒子是長子約哈難，次子約雅敬，三子西底家，四子沙龍。
