Josiah, however, would not turn away from him, but disguised himself to engage him in battle. He would not listen to what Necho had said at God’s command but went to fight him on the plain of Megiddo.

But Josiah wouldn’t turn away from Necho. Josiah wore different clothes so people wouldn’t recognize him. He wanted to go to war against Necho. He wouldn’t listen to what God had commanded Necho to say. Instead, Josiah went out to fight him on the plains of Megiddo.

Nevertheless, Josiah did not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to fight with him. He did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, but came to fight in the plain of Megiddo.

But Josiah refused to listen to Neco, to whom God had indeed spoken, and he would not turn back. Instead, he disguised himself and led his army into battle on the plain of Megiddo.

「君王都來爭戰；那時迦南諸王在米吉多水旁的他納爭戰，卻得不到擄掠的銀錢。

以色列王對約沙法說：「我要改裝上陣，你可以仍穿王服。」於是以色列王改裝，他們上陣去了。

他派使者來見約西亞，說：「猶大王啊，我跟你有甚麼相干呢？我今日來不是要攻打你，而是要攻打與我爭戰之家，並且上帝吩咐我從速行事。你不要干預與我同在的上帝，免得他毀滅你。」

以色列王對約沙法說：「我要改裝上陣，你可以仍穿王袍。」以色列王就改裝上陣去了。

於是，那三個鬼魔把眾王聚集在希伯來話叫作哈米吉多頓的地方。

約沙法對以色列王說：「請你先求問耶和華的話。」於是以色列王召集先知四百人，問他們說：「我可以上去攻打基列的拉末嗎？還是不要上去呢？」他們說：「可以上去，因為上帝必將那城交在王的手裏。」約沙法說：「這裏還有沒有耶和華的先知，我們好求問他呢？」

那日，在耶路撒冷必有大大的哀號，如米吉多平原上哈達‧臨門的哀號。

以色列人收下他們的一些食物，但是沒有求問耶和華的指示。

有一人開弓，並不知情，箭恰巧射入以色列王鎧甲的縫裏。王對駕車的說：「我受重傷了，你掉過車來，載我離開戰場！」

猶大王亞哈謝看見了，就沿着伯‧哈干的路逃跑。耶戶追趕他，說：「把這人也擊殺在車上，在靠近以伯蓮的姑珥坡上」。他逃到米吉多，就死在那裏。

耶羅波安對他的妻子說：「你起來改裝，使人認不出你是耶羅波安的妻子。你往示羅去，看哪，那裏有先知亞希雅，他曾告訴我說，你必作這百姓的王。

他的臣僕用車把他的屍體從米吉多送到耶路撒冷，葬在他自己的墳墓裏。這地的百姓選約西亞的兒子約哈斯，膏立他，接續他父親作王。
