And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.All these[ were] under the hands of their father for song[ in] the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD,[ even] all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

And the porters[ were], Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum[ was] the chief;Who hitherto[ waited] in the king’s gate eastward: they[ were] porters in the companies of the children of Levi.And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites,[ were] over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers,[ being] over the host of the LORD,[ were] keepers of the entry.

And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy[ endureth] for ever;And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun[ were] porters.

I cried unto God with my voice,[ even] unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

Give ear, O my people,[ to] my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

Moreover four thousand[ were] porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made,[ said David], to praise[ therewith].

And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for[ so was] the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
