Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the Lord their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

Josiah removed all the statues of false gods from the whole territory that belonged to the Israelites. The Lord hated those statues. Josiah had everyone in Israel serve the Lord their God. As long as he lived, they didn’t fail to follow the Lord, the God of their people.

And Josiah took away all the abominations from all the territory that belonged to the people of Israel and made all who were present in Israel serve the Lord their God. All his days they did not turn away from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.

So Josiah removed all detestable idols from the entire land of Israel and required everyone to worship the Lord their God. And throughout the rest of his lifetime, they did not turn away from the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

So Josiah removed everything that was detestable from all the lands belonging to the Israelites, and he required all who were present in Israel to serve the LORD their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following the LORD, the God of their ancestors.

So Josiah removed everything that was detestable from all the lands belonging to the Israelites, and he required all who were present in Israel to serve the Lord their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.

And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that[ pertained] to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve,[ even] to serve the LORD their God.[ And] all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.

他作王第八年，尚且年轻，就寻求他祖先大卫的神。到了十二年，他开始洁净犹大和耶路撒冷，除掉丘坛、亚舍拉、雕刻的像和铸造的像。众人在他面前拆毁诸巴力的坛，砍断坛上高高的香坛，又把亚舍拉和雕刻的像，以及铸造的像打碎成灰，撒在向偶像献祭之人的坟上，把祭司的骸骨烧在他们的坛上，洁净了犹大和耶路撒冷。他又在玛拿西、以法莲、西缅、拿弗他利各城和四围的废墟，拆毁祭坛，把亚舍拉和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍断以色列全地所有的香坛。于是他回耶路撒冷去了。

以法莲哪，我可以向你怎样行呢？犹大啊，我可以向你怎样做呢？因为你们的慈爱如同早晨的云雾，又如速散的露水。

王吩咐希勒家大祭司和副祭司，以及把守殿门的，把那些为巴力和亚舍拉，以及天上万象所造的器皿，都从耶和华殿里搬出来，在耶路撒冷外汲沦的田间烧了，把灰拿到伯特利去。从前犹大列王所立拜偶像的祭司，在犹大城镇的丘坛和耶路撒冷周围烧香，现在王都废去，他们是向巴力和日、月、行星，以及天上万象烧香的人。他把亚舍拉从耶和华殿里搬到耶路撒冷外的汲沦溪，在汲沦溪边焚烧，打碎成灰，把灰撒在平民的坟上。他又拆毁耶和华殿里男的庙妓的屋子，就是妇女在那里为亚舍拉编织衣服的屋子。他从犹大的城镇将众祭司带来，从迦巴直到别是巴，玷污祭司烧香的丘坛。他又拆毁城门旁的丘坛，这丘坛是在约书亚市长的城门前，在人进城门的左边。只是丘坛的祭司不登耶路撒冷耶和华的坛，仅在他们弟兄中间吃无酵饼。他又玷污欣嫩子谷的陀斐特，不许人在那里使儿女经火献给摩洛。他把在耶和华殿门旁、靠近拿单‧米勒官员走廊的屋子，犹大列王献给太阳的马废去，且用火焚烧献给太阳的战车。犹大列王在亚哈斯楼房顶上所筑的坛和玛拿西在耶和华殿两院中所筑的坛，王都拆毁，从那里移走，把灰倒在汲沦溪中。从前以色列王所罗门在耶路撒冷东边、邪僻山南边为西顿人可憎的亚斯她录、摩押人可憎的基抹、亚扪人可憎的米勒公所筑的丘坛，王都玷污了，又打碎柱像，砍下亚舍拉，用人的骨头填满那地方。此外，在伯特利丘坛的坛，就是尼八的儿子耶罗波安所筑、使以色列人陷入罪里的，他也把这坛和丘坛都拆毁了，又焚烧丘坛，打碎成灰，并焚烧了亚舍拉。约西亚转头，看见山上的坟墓，就派人取出坟墓里的骸骨，烧在坛上，玷污了坛，正如从前耶罗波安在节期中站在坛旁时，耶和华藉神人所宣告的话。约西亚转头看见了宣告这些话的神人的坟墓。他说：“我看见的这碑是什么呢？”那城里的人对他说：“这是神人的坟墓，他从犹大来，宣告了王向伯特利的坛所做的这些事。”约西亚说：“让他安息吧！不要挪移他的骸骨。”他们就保存了他的骸骨和从撒玛利亚来的那先知的骸骨。从前以色列诸王在撒玛利亚的城镇所建一切惹动怒气的丘坛的庙，约西亚也都废去了，正如他在伯特利所做的。他又把在那里所有丘坛的祭司都杀在坛上，并在坛上烧人的骨头。于是他回耶路撒冷去了。

所罗门随从西顿人的女神亚斯她录和亚扪人可憎的米勒公。所罗门行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，不像他父亲大卫专心顺从耶和华。那时，所罗门为摩押可憎的基抹和亚扪人可憎的摩洛，在耶路撒冷对面的山上建造丘坛。

约书亚在世的日子和他死了以后，那些知道耶和华为以色列所做一切事的长老还在世的时候，以色列人事奉耶和华。

虽有这一切的事，她奸诈的妹妹犹大还不一心归向我，不过是假意归我。这是耶和华说的。”
