施仁行義之輩、淹忽以沒、人不以為意、不知其逝世者、正以避患耳。為義者卒於正寢、得考終命。

雖挪亞、但以理、約百三人旅其中、躬行仁義、亦止救一己之生命而已。如我使暴獸侵噬其國、致之荒蕪、人蹤罕見、雖斯三人居其中、我耶和華指己而誓、其國荒蕪之日、彼止能救一己之命、不能救其子女。如我降以鋒刃、使其國人畜、悉行翦滅、雖此三人居其中、我耶和華指己而誓、彼止能救一己之命、不能救其子女。如我使瘟疫、流布其國、震怒特甚、加以殺戮、人與畜無噍類焉、雖有挪亞、但以理、約百居其中、我耶和華指己而誓、彼為善者止能救一己之命、不能救其子女。主耶和華又曰、我使四災降於耶路撒冷、鋒刃、饑饉、暴獸、瘟疫、使人畜靡有孑遺、其害豈非尤重乎。

耶和華告耶利米曰、雖摩西撒母耳代民祈禱、我必弗恤、當遐棄之、屏之遠往、

爾觀亞哈卑以自牧、因此、亞哈尚存之日、我不降以禍災、迨及其子相繼、乃降災於其家。
