你一聽見永恆主的話、指着這地方和這地方的居民所說的，你的心便軟下來，你就在上帝面前自己謙卑；你既在我面前自己謙卑，又撕裂了衣服，又在我面前哭泣，因此我、我也垂聽你的禱告：這是永恆主發神諭說的。

就是听见我指着这地和其上居民所说的话，你便心里敬服，在我面前自卑，撕裂衣服，向我哭泣，因此我应允了你。这是我耶和华说的。

知我譴責斯邑、爰及民人、爾則中心畏懼、自怨自艾、裂衣泣哭於我前、我允爾祈、

聞我指此處及其居民所言、爾則中心敬服、於我前自卑、裂衣、哭於我前、故我俯聽爾、使爾平康歸爾列祖、歸爾墓中、我所將降於此處及其居民之諸災、不使爾目睹之、此乃主所言、使者返、復言於王、○

Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the Lord.

The Lord says,“ Your heart was tender. You made yourself humble in my sight. You heard what I spoke against this place and its people. So you made yourself humble. You tore your royal robes and wept. And I have heard you,” announces the Lord.

because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.

You were sorry and humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this city and its people. You humbled yourself and tore your clothing in despair and wept before me in repentance. And I have indeed heard you, says the Lord.

‘ You displayed a sensitive spirit and humbled yourself before God when you heard his words concerning this place and its residents. You humbled yourself before me, tore your clothes and wept before me, and I have heard you,’ says the LORD.

但是希西家又為了自己的心高氣傲而謙卑自己；他和耶路撒冷的居民都謙卑，故此當希西家活着的日子、永恆主的震怒就沒有臨到他們。

王聽見《律法書》上的話，便撕裂衣服。

因為那崇高又高聳的這麼說，那住「永恆」、其名為聖者說：『我住崇高而至聖的所在，也跟心靈痛悔而謙卑的人同住，要使謙卑人的靈活起來，使痛悔之人的心復活。

猶底念了三四欄，王就用祕書的刀將卷頁割掉，扔在火盆中的火裏，直到全卷都在火盆中的火裏燒盡了。王和他的眾臣僕、就是聽見這一切話的人、都不震驚恐懼，也不撕裂衣服。

永恆主見他們自己謙卑，永恆主的話語就傳與示瑪雅說：『他們既自己謙卑，我就不滅絕他們；我乃是要使他們暫時得搭救；我不藉着示撒的手將我的烈怒倒在耶路撒冷上頭。

我必將新的心賜給你們，將新的靈放在你們裏面；我必從你們肉體中除掉石頭之心，將血肉之心賜給你們。

對他說：『你去走遍城中、耶路撒冷中間，在那些為了城中所行可厭惡的事而歎息唉哼的人額上畫個刀字的記號。』

永恆主跟傷心的人相近，拯救心靈痛悔的人。

永恆主啊，困苦人的心願你早已聽見；他們心中的悲歎你必側耳以聽，

那時他們還未呼求，我就應了；他們還在說話，我就垂聽了。

至於差遣你們來尋問永恆主的那猶大王、你們要這樣對他說：永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：論到你所聽見的話，你一聽見我指着這地方和這地方的居民所說的話說，要使這地成了令人驚駭、令人咒詛的對象，你的心便軟了下來，你就在我永恆主面前自己謙卑，又撕裂了衣服，又在我面前哭，因此我也垂聽你的禱告；這是永恆主發神諭說的。

他怎樣禱告，上帝怎樣應允他所懇求的，他未自己謙卑以前所犯的一切罪和不忠實，他在甚麼地方築了邱壇、設立了亞舍拉神木和雕像：這些事都寫在那些見異象者的《言行錄》上呢。

不，他還賜更大的恩呢；故此經上說：『上帝敵擋狂傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人』。所以你們要順服上帝，抵擋魔鬼，魔鬼就逃避你們。你們親近上帝，上帝就親近你們。罪人哪，潔淨你們的手吧；心懷二意的人哪，使你們的心清潔吧。你們要愁苦，要哀慟，要哭泣。讓你們的喜笑變為哀慟吧；你們的喜樂變為意氣銷沉吧！你們要在主面前自己謙卑，主就使你們升高。

永恆主發神諭說：這一切都是我手造的，這一切都是我的。但以下這種人我倒要垂看：我要垂看卑遜謙虛、心靈傷痛，一聽見我的話、就戰戰兢兢的人。

上帝所要的祭乃是憂傷的靈；憂傷痛悔的心，上帝啊，你不藐視。

他在急難時候、求永恆主他的上帝的情面，並且在他列祖的上帝面前非常謙卑。

這希西家豈不是曾經把他的邱壇和祭壇廢去，告訴猶大和耶路撒冷的人說：『你們要在一個祭壇前敬拜，要在那上頭燻祭』麼？我和我列祖向四圍各地萬族之民所行的、你們不知道麼？各地列國的神何嘗真能援救他們本地脫離我的手呢？
