拿答行耶和华看为恶的事，跟随他父亲的路，犯他父亲使以色列人陷在罪中的那罪。

但是他们没有听从。玛拿西引诱他们去作坏事，比耶和华从以色列人面前消灭的外族人更厉害。于是耶和华藉着他的仆人众先知说：“因为犹大王玛拿西所作这些可憎恶的事，比在他以前的亚摩利人所行的恶更坏，并且以他的偶像使犹大人犯罪。

他们随从耶和华从以色列人面前驱逐的外族人的风俗，以及以色列诸王奉行的风俗。以色列人暗中做了不对的事，违背耶和华他们的神，并且在他们所有的城市，从哨站到设防城，为他们自己建筑邱坛。又在各高山顶上和每一棵青翠的树下竖立神柱和亚舍拉。他们在各邱坛上献祭和焚香，好像耶和华从他们的面前掳去的外族人一样，又行恶事，使耶和华发怒。

为了耶罗波安所犯的罪，又为了他使以色列人所犯的罪，耶和华必丢弃以色列人。”

“你们不可让这些事的任何一件玷污自己，因为我将要从你们面前赶出去的各族，就是被这些事玷污了自己。

这族人人数众多，身体高大，像亚衲族人一样；但耶和华从亚扪人面前消灭了他们，亚扪人就占领了他们的地业，住在那里，

你跟随了暗利的规例和亚哈家一切所行的，顺从了他们的计谋；因此，我必使你荒凉，使你（“你”原文作“她”）的居民被嗤笑；你们也必担当我民的羞辱。

此外，玛拿西又流了许多无辜人的血，耶路撒冷，从这边直到那边，都满了血。这还是在他使犹大人犯罪，去行耶和华看为恶的事那罪之外。

你实在是你母亲的女儿，她厌弃自己的丈夫和儿女；你实在是你姊妹的姊妹，她们厌弃她们的丈夫和儿女；你们的母亲是赫人，你们的父亲是亚摩利人。你的姊姊是撒玛利亚，她和她的女儿们住在你的北面；你的妹妹是所多玛，她和她的女儿们住在你的南面。你不但行她们所行的，作她们所作的可憎之事，而且你还以那些事为小，你一切所行的比她们更坏。

我领你们到了住在约旦河东的亚摩利人的地，他们和你们争战，我把他们交在你们手里，你们就得了他们的地作产业；我也在你们面前把他们消灭。
