He built altars in the Lord’ s temple. The Lord had said about his temple,“ My Name will remain in Jerusalem forever.”

在主之殿宇建祭壇、昔主云、我名必永在耶路撒冷、所言即指此殿、

He built altars in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said,“ My Name will remain in Jerusalem forever.”

And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said,“ In Jerusalem shall my name be forever.”

He built pagan altars in the Temple of the Lord, the place where the Lord had said,“ My name will remain in Jerusalem forever.”

He built altars in the LORD’s temple, where the LORD had said,“ Jerusalem is where my name will remain forever.”

He built altars in the house of the Lord of which the Lord had said,“ My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”

He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said,“ In Jerusalem shall My name be forever.”

And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, whereof Jehovah said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

He built altars in the Lord’s temple, where Yahweh had said,“ Jerusalem is where My name will remain forever.”

Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

He built altars in the LORD’s temple, about which the LORD had said,“ Jerusalem will be my permanent home.”

He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said,“ My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”

I have chosen this temple. I have set it apart for myself. My Name will be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

The Lord your God will choose a special place. He will put his Name there. That’s where you must bring everything I command you to bring. That includes your burnt offerings and sacrifices. It includes your special gifts and a tenth of everything you produce. It also includes all the things of value that you promised to give to the Lord.

But now I have chosen Jerusalem. I will put my Name there. And I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.’

Let your eyes look toward this temple night and day. You said,‘ I will put my Name there.’ So please listen to the prayer I’m praying toward this place.

He built altars in the Lord’ s temple. The Lord had said about his temple,“ I will put my Name there in Jerusalem.”In the two courtyards of the Lord’ s temple Manasseh built altars to honor all the stars.

Manasseh got rid of the false gods. He removed the statue of one of those gods from the Lord’ s temple. He also removed all the altars he had built on the temple hill and in Jerusalem. He threw them out of the city.

They were comparing the God of Jerusalem to the gods of the other nations of the world. But those gods were only statues. They had been made by human hands.

While he was still young, he began to worship the God of King David. It was the eighth year of Josiah’s rule. In his 12th year Josiah began to get rid of the high places in Judah and Jerusalem. He removed the poles used to worship the female god named Asherah. He also removed the statues of other false gods.He ordered the altars of the gods that were named Baal to be torn down. Josiah cut to pieces the altars above them that were used for burning incense. He smashed the Asherah poles. He also smashed the statues of other false gods. Josiah broke all of them to pieces. He scattered the pieces over the graves of those who had offered sacrifices to those gods.

“ The people of Judah have done what is evil in my eyes,” announces the Lord.“ They have set up statues of their gods. They have worshiped them in the house where my Name is. They have made my house‘ unclean.’ I hate those statues.

The Lord said to him,“ I have heard you pray to me. I have heard you ask me to help you. You have built this temple. I have set it apart for myself. My Name will be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
