瑪拿西即位時、年十有二、在耶路撒冷為王、歷五十五年、其母名協西巴、瑪拿西行耶和華所惡、效異邦可憎之事、即耶和華於以色列人前、所逐諸族之事、復建其父希西家所毀之崇邱、為巴力建壇、作木偶、效以色列王亞哈所為、又崇拜天象、而奉事之、在耶和華室建壇、昔耶和華指此室而言曰、我必寄我名於耶路撒冷、又在耶和華室二院中、為天象建壇、並使其子經火、用卜筮、行邪術、與憑鬼者及巫覡交、多行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、又於耶和華室、置所造之亞舍拉雕像、昔耶和華諭大衛、及其子所羅門曰、此室與耶路撒冷、乃我於以色列支派中所簡者、必永寄我名於其中、如以色列人謹守遵行我命、及我僕摩西所命之法律、則我不復使之流離、去我賜其列祖之地、惟彼不聽、瑪拿西又誘之、致其作惡、較耶和華在以色列人前、所滅之族尤甚、耶和華藉其僕諸先知曰、因猶大王瑪拿西行此可憎之事、較亞摩利人作惡尤甚、使猶大人因其偶像而陷於罪、

木工布繩、畫之以筆、治之以鐋、正之以規、象人之形、猶人之美、處之於室、更伐香柏、亦取橡櫟、皆林木之堅者、或植杉木、得雨露之養、人取之為薪、用之暖體、燃之烘餅、或以之作神像、而崇拜之、雕偶像、而俯伏於其前、半以燃火、半以炙肉、食之果腹、復暖其身、曰、噫、我既溫暖、亦既觀火、尚有餘木、用之造神、以為雕像、俯伏拜之、禱曰、爾其救予、蓋爾為我神也、維彼不知不思、其目障翳不見、其心蒙蔽不明、無人想念、無知識、無聰明、不云材木之半、我已焚之以火、烘餅於炭、半以炙肉食之、豈可用其餘者、而作可憎之物、俯伏以拜木榦乎、彼乃食灰、中心昏迷、使之離途、弗能自救、不知自言、我之右手所執、非虛誕乎、○

瑪拿西即位時、年十有二、在耶路撒冷為王、歷五十五年、行耶和華所惡、從異邦可憎之事、即耶和華於以色列人前、所逐諸族之事、復建其父希西家所毀之崇邱、為巴力建壇、作木偶、崇拜天象、而奉事之、在耶和華室築壇、昔耶和華指此室而言曰、我名必永在耶路撒冷、又在耶和華室二院中、為天象築壇、並在欣嫩子谷、使其子女經火、又行卜筮、用法術、行邪術、與憑鬼者及巫覡交、多行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、又置所造雕像於上帝室、昔上帝諭大衛、及其子所羅門曰、此室及耶路撒冷、乃我於以色列支派中所簡者、必永寄我名於其中、如以色列人遵行我藉摩西、所傳之法度、典章律例、則我不復移其足、離我所錫厥祖之地、瑪拿西誘猶大及耶路撒冷居民、致其行惡、較耶和華於以色列人前、所滅之族尤甚、耶和華諭瑪拿西與其民、惟彼不聽、

在位之八年、尚幼冲、始求其祖大衛之上帝、十二年、始潔猶大及耶路撒冷、除其崇邱木偶、雕像鑄像、民於其前毀巴力之壇、斫其上之日像、碎其木偶、雕像鑄像、搗之成粉、揚於祭者之塚、
