He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.

Manasseh did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. He followed the practices of the nations. The Lord hated those practices. The Lord had driven out those nations to make room for the Israelites.

And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.

He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the detestable practices of the pagan nations that the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.

He did what was evil in the LORD’s sight, imitating the detestable practices of the nations that the LORD had dispossessed before the Israelites.

“你到了耶和华—你神所赐你之地，不可学那些国家行可憎恶的事。

你不可向耶和华—你的神这样做，因为他们向他们的神明做了耶和华所憎恨、所厌恶的一切事，甚至将自己的儿女用火焚烧，献给他们的神明。

在各丘坛上烧香，效法耶和华在他们面前赶出的外邦人所行的，又行恶事，惹耶和华发怒。

他们厌弃他的律例，和他与他们列祖所立的约，以及他劝戒他们的话，去随从虚无的神明，自己成为虚妄，效法周围的列国，就是耶和华嘱咐他们不可效法的。

我们岂可再违背你的诫命，与行这些可憎之事的民族结亲呢？若我们这样行，你岂不向我们发怒，将我们灭绝，以致没有一个余民或残存之民吗？

他们却不听从，并且玛拿西引诱他们行恶，比耶和华在以色列人面前所灭的列国更严重。

你们就知道我是耶和华；因为你们不遵行我的律例，也不顺从我的典章，却随从你们四围列国的规条。”

“在这一切的事上，你们都不可玷污自己，因为我在你们面前所逐出的列国，在这一切的事上玷污了自己。连地也玷污了，我惩罚那地的罪孽，地就吐出它的居民来。但你们要遵守我的律例典章。这一切可憎恶的事，无论是本地人或寄居在你们中间的外人，都不可以做。在你们之前居住那地的人做了这一切可憎恶的事，地就玷污了。不要让地因你们玷污了它而把你们吐出来，像吐出在你们之前的国一样。无论是谁，若做了这其中一件可憎恶的事，必从百姓中剪除。你们要遵守我的吩咐，免得你们随从那些可憎的习俗，就是在你们之前的人所做的，玷污了自己。我是耶和华—你们的神。”

“你们要谨守我一切的律例典章，遵行它们，免得我领你们去住的那地把你们吐出来。我在你们面前所逐出的国民，你们不可随从他们的风俗。因为他们行了这一切的事，所以我厌恶他们。

众祭司长和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列国一切可憎的事，玷污耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。

你所要赶出的那些国家都听从观星象的和占卜的，但是耶和华—你的神从来不准你这样做。”

反倒与列国相交，学习他们的行为，事奉他们的偶像，这就成了自己的圈套。他们把自己的儿女祭祀鬼魔，流无辜人的血，就是自己儿女的血，用他们祭祀迦南的偶像，那地就被血玷污了。这样，他们被自己所做的玷污了，在行为上犯了淫乱。耶和华的怒气向他的百姓发作，他憎恶自己的产业，

我必使地上万国因他们而惊骇，都因希西家的儿子犹大王玛拿西在耶路撒冷所做的事。”
