He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.

Manasseh did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. He followed the practices of the nations. The Lord hated those practices. The Lord had driven out those nations to make room for the Israelites.

And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.

He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the detestable practices of the pagan nations that the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.

He did what was evil in the LORD’s sight, imitating the detestable practices of the nations that the LORD had dispossessed before the Israelites.

“你到了耶和华你的神要赐给你的那地的时候，那些外族人可厌可恶的事，你不可学习去行。

你不可向耶和华你的神这样行，因为耶和华恨恶的一切可厌恶的事，他们都向他们的神行了，甚至把自己的儿女用火焚烧，献给他们的神。

他们在各邱坛上献祭和焚香，好像耶和华从他们的面前掳去的外族人一样，又行恶事，使耶和华发怒。

厌弃他的律例和他与他们的祖先订立的约，以及他对他们的警戒；却信从虚无的神，自己成为虚妄，跟从他们周围的外族人，耶和华曾吩咐他们不可跟从他们的行为。

我们怎可以再违背你的诫命，与这些行可憎事的民族通婚呢？如果我们这样行，你岂不向我们发怒，消灭我们，以致没有一个剩余，或是逃脱的人吗？

但是他们没有听从。玛拿西引诱他们去作坏事，比耶和华从以色列人面前消灭的外族人更厉害。

你们就知道我是耶和华。这是因为你们没有遵行我的律例，也没有遵守我的典章，却效法你们周围列国的习俗去行。’”

“你们不可让这些事的任何一件玷污自己，因为我将要从你们面前赶出去的各族，就是被这些事玷污了自己。连地也被玷污，所以我追讨那地的罪孽，那地就把居民吐出去。所以，你们要谨守我的律例和典章；这一切可憎的事，无论是本地人或是在你们中间寄居的外人，一件都不可作（因为在你们以前住在那地的人，行了这一切可憎的事，就玷污了自己）；免得你们玷污那地，那地就把你们吐出去，像吐出了在你们以前的各民族一样。无论什么人，行了一件这些可憎的事，必从自己的族人中被剪除。所以你们要谨守我的吩咐，免得你们行那些可憎的风俗，就是你们以前的人所行的，玷污了自己。我是耶和华你们的神。”

“所以你们要谨守遵行我的一切律例和一切典章，免得我将要领你们进去居住的那地，把你们吐出来。我从你们面前逐出的各民族，你们不可随从他们的风俗；因为他们行了这一切事，所以我厌恶他们。

此外，所有的祭司长和人民也都大大地得罪神，随从列国所行一切可憎的事；他们污秽了耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。

“因为你要赶走的那些民族，都听从算命的和占卜的；至于你，耶和华你的神却不容许你这样行。

反而和外族人混居杂处，学习他们的风俗习惯。他们又事奉外族人的偶像，这就成了他们的网罗。他们把自己的儿女祭祀鬼魔。他们流了无辜人的血，就是他们自己儿女的血，把他们祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污秽了。这样，他们因自己所作的成了不洁，他们的行为使他们犯了邪淫。所以耶和华的怒气向他的子民发作；他厌恶自己的产业，

“因犹大王希西家的儿子玛拿西在耶路撒冷的所作所为，我必使地上万国看见他们的遭遇就惊恐。”
