Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised[ it] up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo[ in] the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.

Then he worked hard repairing all the broken sections of the wall and building towers on it. He built another wall outside that one and reinforced the terraces of the City of David. He also made large numbers of weapons and shields.

Then Hezekiah worked hard repairing all the broken parts of the wall. He built towers on it. He built another wall outside that one. He built up the areas that had been filled in around the City of David. He also made large numbers of weapons and shields.

He set to work resolutely and built up all the wall that was broken down and raised towers upon it, and outside it he built another wall, and he strengthened the Millo in the city of David. He also made weapons and shields in abundance.

Then Hezekiah worked hard at repairing all the broken sections of the wall, erecting towers, and constructing a second wall outside the first. He also reinforced the supporting terraces in the City of David and manufactured large numbers of weapons and shields.

Then Hezekiah strengthened his position by rebuilding the entire broken-down wall and heightening the towers and the other outside wall. He repaired the supporting terraces of the city of David, and made an abundance of weapons and shields.

And he resolutely set to work and rebuilt all of the wall that had been broken down and erected towers on it, and built another outside wall and strengthened the Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in great numbers.

Hezekiah energetically rebuilt every broken wall. He erected towers and an outer wall, and fortified the terrace of the City of David. He made many weapons and shields.

He took courage, built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, with the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in David’s city, and made weapons and shields in abundance.

And Joash the king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Bethshemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which[ Solomon] had built for her: then did he build Millo.

Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

And the city was broken up, and all the men of war[ fled] by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which[ is] by the king’s garden:( now the Chaldees[ were] against the city round about:) and[ the king] went the way toward the plain.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that[ was] in Shechem.

And it came to pass,[ that] when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

And this[ was] the cause that he lifted up[ his] hand against the king: Solomon built Millo,[ and] repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.

And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about[ them] walls, and towers, gates, and bars,[ while] the land[ is] yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought[ him], and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings[ to cast] stones.And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad[ even] to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened[ himself] exceedingly.
