Hezekiah rested with his ancestors and was buried on the hill where the tombs of David’s descendants are. All Judah and the people of Jerusalem honored him when he died. And Manasseh his son succeeded him as king.

Hezekiah joined the members of his family who had already died. He was buried on the hill where the tombs of David’s family are. The whole nation of Judah honored him when he died. So did the people of Jerusalem. Hezekiah’s son Manasseh became the next king after him.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the upper part of the tombs of the sons of David, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honor at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his place.

玛拿西登基的时候年十二岁，在耶路撒冷作王五十五年。他行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，效法耶和华在以色列人面前赶出的列国那些可憎的事。他重新建筑他父亲希西家所拆毁的丘坛，为诸巴力筑坛，造亚舍拉，又敬拜天上的万象，事奉它们。他在耶和华殿中筑坛，耶和华曾指着这殿说：“我的名必永远在耶路撒冷。”他在耶和华殿的两个院子为天上的万象筑坛，并在欣嫩子谷使他的儿子经火，又观星象，行法术，行邪术，求问招魂的和行巫术的，多行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹他发怒。他在上帝殿内立雕刻的偶像；上帝曾对大卫和他儿子所罗门说：“我在以色列众支派中所选择的耶路撒冷和这殿，必立我的名，直到永远。只要以色列人谨守遵行我藉摩西吩咐他们的一切律法、律例、典章，我就不再使他们的脚挪移，离开我所赐给他们列祖之土地。”玛拿西引诱犹大和耶路撒冷的居民行恶，比耶和华在以色列人面前所灭的列国更严重。耶和华警戒玛拿西和他的百姓，他们却不听。所以耶和华使亚述王的将领来攻击他们，用手铐铐住玛拿西，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。他在急难的时候恳求耶和华—他的上帝，并在他列祖的上帝面前极其谦卑。他祈祷耶和华，耶和华就应允他，垂听他的祷告，使他归回耶路撒冷，仍坐王位。玛拿西这才知道惟独耶和华是上帝。此后，玛拿西在大卫城外，从谷内基训西边直到鱼门口，建筑城墙，环绕俄斐勒；这墙建得很高。他又在犹大各坚固城内设立将领。他除掉外邦人的神像与耶和华殿中的偶像，又将他在耶和华殿的山上和耶路撒冷所筑的各坛都拆毁，抛在城外。他重修耶和华的祭坛，在坛上献平安祭和感谢祭，并吩咐犹大人事奉耶和华—以色列的上帝。百姓却仍在丘坛上献祭，不过，他们只献给耶和华—他们的上帝。玛拿西其余的事和他向上帝的祷告，以及先见奉耶和华—以色列上帝的名警戒他的话，看哪，都在《以色列诸王记》上。他的祷告，上帝怎样应允他，他未谦卑以前的一切罪愆过犯，以及在何处建筑丘坛，设立亚舍拉和雕刻的偶像，看哪，都写在何赛的书上。玛拿西与他祖先同睡，葬在自己的宫中，他儿子亚们接续他作王。

他们到了约旦河东亚达的禾场，就在那里大大地号啕痛哭。约瑟为他父亲哀哭了七天。迦南的居民看见亚达禾场上的哀哭，就说：“这是埃及人一场极大的哀哭。”因此那地方名叫亚伯‧麦西，是在约旦河东。

以色列人在摩押平原为摩西哀哭了三十天，为摩西哀哭居丧的日期才结束。
