However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

The rulers of Babylon sent messengers to him. They asked him about the miraculous sign that had taken place in the land. Then God left Hezekiah to test him. God wanted to know everything in Hezekiah’s heart.

And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to test him and to know all that was in his heart.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to see what was really in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in[ the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was[ done] in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all[ that was] in his heart.

So when the envoys arrived from the Babylonian officials to visit him and inquire about the sign that occurred in the land, God left him alone to test him, in order to know his true motives.

You shall remember all the way which Yahweh your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, to test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.

After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him,“ Abraham!” He said,“ Here I am.”

In those days Hezekiah was terminally ill, and he prayed to Yahweh; and he spoke to him, and gave him a sign.

who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers didn’t know, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

Let no man say when he is tempted,“ I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

But stretch out your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”Yahweh said to Satan,“ Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh.

I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, but Yahweh tests the hearts.

“ But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer to Yahweh offerings in righteousness.

At that time, Merodach Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.Then Isaiah the prophet came to king Hezekiah, and asked him,“ What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said,“ They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”Then he asked,“ What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered,“ They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah,“ Hear the word of Yahweh of Armies:‘ Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.‘ They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ Yahweh’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover,“ For there will be peace and truth in my days.”

I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say,‘ It is my people;’ and they will say,‘ Yahweh is my God.’”

She said,“ The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” He awoke out of his sleep, and said,“ I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free.” But he didn’t know that Yahweh had departed from him.

Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ What will be the sign that Yahweh will heal me, and that I will go up to Yahweh’s house the third day?”Isaiah said,“ This will be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do the thing that he has spoken: should the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”Hezekiah answered,“ It is a light thing for the shadow to go forward ten steps. No, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.”Isaiah the prophet cried to Yahweh; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.At that time Berodach Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.Hezekiah listened to them, and showed them all the storehouse of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, or in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.

Don’t hide your face from me. Don’t put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Don’t abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation.

Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me.You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar.

you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

This shall be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do this thing that he has spoken.Behold, I will cause the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps.”’” So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down.

Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit.

Uphold me according to your word, that I may live. Let me not be ashamed of my hope.Hold me up, and I will be safe, and will have respect for your statutes continually.

Yahweh said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. He still maintains his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause.”Satan answered Yahweh, and said,“ Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.But stretch out your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce you to your face.”Yahweh said to Satan,“ Behold, he is in your hand. Only spare his life.”

Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts.See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.
