But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

The rulers of Babylon sent messengers to him. They asked him about the miraculous sign that had taken place in the land. Then God left Hezekiah to test him. God wanted to know everything in Hezekiah’s heart.

And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to test him and to know all that was in his heart.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to see what was really in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Howbeit in[ the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was[ done] in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all[ that was] in his heart.

So when the envoys arrived from the Babylonian officials to visit him and inquire about the sign that occurred in the land, God left him alone to test him, in order to know his true motives.

However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

你也要記念耶和華你的神這四十年在曠野引導你的一切路程，為要使你受苦，要試煉你，要知道你心裡怎樣，看看你肯守他的誡命不肯。

這些事以後，神試驗亞伯拉罕，對他說：“亞伯拉罕啊！”他回答：“我在這裡。”

那時，希西家患病垂危，就禱告耶和華；耶和華應允了他，又賜他一個徵兆。

他在曠野把你的列祖不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，是要使你受苦，要試煉你，使你終久得到福樂；

人被試探，不可說“我被神試探”；因為神不能被惡試探，他也不試探任何人。

只要你伸手打擊他所有的一切，他一定當面褻瀆你。”耶和華對撒但說：“好吧，他所有的一切都交在你手中，只是不可以伸手害他。”於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。

我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。住在我裡面的，我也住在他裡面，他就結出很多果子；因為離開了我，你們就不能作甚麼。

用鍋煉銀，用爐煉金；唯有耶和華鍛煉人心。

可是，他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為他像煉金之人的火，又像漂布之人的鹼。他必坐著，像熬煉和潔淨銀子的人；他必潔淨利未人，煉淨他們像煉淨金銀一樣。這樣，他們就會憑公義獻禮物給耶和華。

那時，巴比倫王巴拉但的兒子米羅達．巴拉但，聽說希西家病了，又痊愈了，就派人送信和禮物給希西家。希西家就十分高興，並且把他的寶庫、銀子、金子、香料和貴重的油，以及他整個武器庫裡和他府庫裡的一切物件，都給使者們看；他家裡和他全國裡的東西，希西家沒有一樣不給他們看。於是以賽亞先知來見希西家王，問他說：“這些人說了些甚麼？他們從哪裡來見你？”希西家說：“他們是從遠方的巴比倫來見我的。”以賽亞又問：“他們在你家裡看見了甚麼？”希西家回答：“我家中所有的，他們都看了；我的財寶中，沒有一樣不給他們看。”以賽亞對希西家說：“你要聽萬軍之耶和華的話。看哪！日子必到，你家中所有的，以及你列祖所積蓄到今日的，都要被帶到巴比倫去，一樣也不留，這是耶和華說的。從你所出的眾子，就是你所生的，其中必有被擄去的，在巴比倫王宮裡作太監。”希西家對以賽亞說：“你所說耶和華的話不錯呀！”因為他心裡想：“在我有生之日，必有平安和穩固。”

我必使這三分之一經火試煉。我要煉淨他們，像煉淨銀子一樣；我要試煉他們，像試煉金子一樣。他們必呼求我的名，我必應允他們。我要說：‘他們是我的子民。’他們也要說：‘耶和華是我們的神。’”

大利拉說：“參孫哪，非利士人上來捉你了！”參孫從睡夢中醒來，心裡說：“我要像前幾次一樣掙扎出去，必能脫身。”但他不知道耶和華已經離開他了。

希西家對以賽亞說：“有甚麼徵兆告訴我耶和華必醫治我，第三日我能上耶和華的殿呢？”以賽亞說：“這就是耶和華給你的徵兆，顯明耶和華必成全他應許的這事：你要日影向前進十級或是倒退十級呢？”希西家說：“日影延伸十級容易；不，我要日影倒後十級。”以賽亞先知呼求耶和華，他就使日晷上的日影，就是在亞哈斯的日晷上已經下移的日影倒退了十級。那時，巴比倫王巴拉但的兒子比羅達．巴拉但送信和禮物給希西家，因為他聽見希西家病了。希西家聽了使者的話，隨後把寶庫內的一切銀子、金子、香料、貴重的油和軍器庫，以及他寶庫內一切所有的，都給他們看。無論是在他的宮中或是在全國各地的，希西家沒有一樣不給他們看的。

求你不要向我掩面，不要發怒趕逐你的僕人，你一向是幫助我的。拯救我的神啊！求你不要撇下我，也不要離棄我。

耶和華啊！你鑒察了我，你認識我。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）我坐下，我起來，你都知道；你在遠處就明白我的意念。

你不可聽從那先知或作夢的人的話；因為耶和華你們的神試驗你們，要知道你們是不是一心一意愛耶和華你們的神。

是要叫你們的信心經過試驗，就比那被火煉過，仍會朽壞的金子更寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候，得著稱讚、榮耀和尊貴。

以下就是耶和華給你的兆頭，為要證明耶和華必成全他所說過的。看哪！我要使亞哈斯日晷上那向前進的日影往後退十級。”於是那向前進的日影，果然在日晷上往後退了十級。

不要把我從你面前丟棄，不要從我身上收回你的聖靈。求你使我重得你救恩的喜樂，重新有樂意的靈支持我。

求你照著你的應許扶持我，使我存活；不要使我因仰望你而蒙羞。求你扶持我，我就必得救；我必常常重視你的律例。

耶和華問撒但：“你有沒有注意到我的僕人約伯？世上再也沒有一個人像他那樣完全、正直，敬畏神，遠離罪惡。雖然你挑撥我與他作對，無緣無故使他傾家蕩產，他還是堅守自己的純全。”撒但回答耶和華說：“人以皮換皮，寧可付出他所有的一切去保命。只要你伸手傷害他的骨和肉，他一定當面褻瀆你。”耶和華對撒但說：“好吧，他在你手中，不過，要留存他的命。”

神啊！求你鑒察我，知道我的心思；試驗我，知道我的意念。看看我裡面有甚麼惡行沒有，引導我走永恆的道路。
