But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

The rulers of Babylon sent messengers to him. They asked him about the miraculous sign that had taken place in the land. Then God left Hezekiah to test him. God wanted to know everything in Hezekiah’s heart.

And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to test him and to know all that was in his heart.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to see what was really in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Howbeit in[ the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was[ done] in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all[ that was] in his heart.

So when the envoys arrived from the Babylonian officials to visit him and inquire about the sign that occurred in the land, God left him alone to test him, in order to know his true motives.

However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

你也要记念耶和华你的神这四十年在旷野引导你的一切路程，为要使你受苦，要试炼你，要知道你心里怎样，看看你肯守他的诫命不肯。

那时，希西家患病垂危，就祷告耶和华；耶和华应允了他，又赐他一个征兆。

他在旷野把你的列祖不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，是要使你受苦，要试炼你，使你终久得到福乐；

人被试探，不可说“我被神试探”；因为神不能被恶试探，他也不试探任何人。

只要你伸手打击他所有的一切，他一定当面亵渎你。”耶和华对撒但说：“好吧，他所有的一切都交在你手中，只是不可以伸手害他。”于是撒但从耶和华面前退去。

我是葡萄树，你们是枝子。住在我里面的，我也住在他里面，他就结出很多果子；因为离开了我，你们就不能作什么。

用锅炼银，用炉炼金；唯有耶和华锻炼人心。

可是，他来的日子，谁能当得起呢？他显现的时候，谁能站立得住呢？因为他像炼金之人的火，又像漂布之人的碱。他必坐着，像熬炼和洁净银子的人；他必洁净利未人，炼净他们像炼净金银一样。这样，他们就会凭公义献礼物给耶和华。

那时，巴比伦王巴拉但的儿子米罗达．巴拉但，听说希西家病了，又痊愈了，就派人送信和礼物给希西家。希西家就十分高兴，并且把他的宝库、银子、金子、香料和贵重的油，以及他整个武器库里和他府库里的一切物件，都给使者们看；他家里和他全国里的东西，希西家没有一样不给他们看。于是以赛亚先知来见希西家王，问他说：“这些人说了些什么？他们从哪里来见你？”希西家说：“他们是从远方的巴比伦来见我的。”以赛亚又问：“他们在你家里看见了什么？”希西家回答：“我家中所有的，他们都看了；我的财宝中，没有一样不给他们看。”以赛亚对希西家说：“你要听万军之耶和华的话。看哪！日子必到，你家中所有的，以及你列祖所积蓄到今日的，都要被带到巴比伦去，一样也不留，这是耶和华说的。从你所出的众子，就是你所生的，其中必有被掳去的，在巴比伦王宫里作太监。”希西家对以赛亚说：“你所说耶和华的话不错呀！”因为他心里想：“在我有生之日，必有平安和稳固。”

我必使这三分之一经火试炼。我要炼净他们，像炼净银子一样；我要试炼他们，像试炼金子一样。他们必呼求我的名，我必应允他们。我要说：‘他们是我的子民。’他们也要说：‘耶和华是我们的神。’”

大利拉说：“参孙哪，非利士人上来捉你了！”参孙从睡梦中醒来，心里说：“我要像前几次一样挣扎出去，必能脱身。”但他不知道耶和华已经离开他了。

希西家对以赛亚说：“有什么征兆告诉我耶和华必医治我，第三日我能上耶和华的殿呢？”以赛亚说：“这就是耶和华给你的征兆，显明耶和华必成全他应许的这事：你要日影向前进十级或是倒退十级呢？”希西家说：“日影延伸十级容易；不，我要日影倒后十级。”以赛亚先知呼求耶和华，他就使日晷上的日影，就是在亚哈斯的日晷上已经下移的日影倒退了十级。那时，巴比伦王巴拉但的儿子比罗达．巴拉但送信和礼物给希西家，因为他听见希西家病了。希西家听了使者的话，随后把宝库内的一切银子、金子、香料、贵重的油和军器库，以及他宝库内一切所有的，都给他们看。无论是在他的宫中或是在全国各地的，希西家没有一样不给他们看的。

求你不要向我掩面，不要发怒赶逐你的仆人，你一向是帮助我的。拯救我的神啊！求你不要撇下我，也不要离弃我。

耶和华啊！你鉴察了我，你认识我。（本节在《马索拉文本》包括细字标题）我坐下，我起来，你都知道；你在远处就明白我的意念。

你不可听从那先知或作梦的人的话；因为耶和华你们的神试验你们，要知道你们是不是一心一意爱耶和华你们的神。

是要叫你们的信心经过试验，就比那被火炼过，仍会朽坏的金子更宝贵，可以在耶稣基督显现的时候，得著称赞、荣耀和尊贵。

以下就是耶和华给你的兆头，为要证明耶和华必成全他所说过的。看哪！我要使亚哈斯日晷上那向前进的日影往后退十级。”于是那向前进的日影，果然在日晷上往后退了十级。

不要把我从你面前丢弃，不要从我身上收回你的圣灵。求你使我重得你救恩的喜乐，重新有乐意的灵支持我。

求你照着你的应许扶持我，使我存活；不要使我因仰望你而蒙羞。求你扶持我，我就必得救；我必常常重视你的律例。

耶和华问撒但：“你有没有注意到我的仆人约伯？世上再也没有一个人像他那样完全、正直，敬畏神，远离罪恶。虽然你挑拨我与他作对，无缘无故使他倾家荡产，他还是坚守自己的纯全。”撒但回答耶和华说：“人以皮换皮，宁可付出他所有的一切去保命。只要你伸手伤害他的骨和肉，他一定当面亵渎你。”耶和华对撒但说：“好吧，他在你手中，不过，要留存他的命。”

神啊！求你鉴察我，知道我的心思；试验我，知道我的意念。看看我里面有什么恶行没有，引导我走永恒的道路。
