那时亚伯兰拥有极多的牲畜和金银。他从南地起程继续往伯特利去，到了伯特利和艾之间，就是他先前支搭帐篷的地方，也是他原先造祭坛的地方。亚伯兰就在那里呼求耶和华的名。与亚伯兰同行的罗得，也拥有羊群、牛群和帐篷。那地容不下他们一起住，因为他们的财物很多，以致他们不能住在一起。

耶和华的祝福使人富有，并且他不会加上劳苦。
