Then Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah had a change of heart. He was sorry he had been proud. The people of Jerusalem were also sorry they had sinned. So the Lord wasn’t angry with them as long as Hezekiah was king.

But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself and repented of his pride, as did the people of Jerusalem. So the Lord’s anger did not fall on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart— he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem— so the LORD’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

But then Hezekiah and the residents of Jerusalem humbled themselves and abandoned their pride, and the LORD was not angry with them for the rest of Hezekiah’s reign.

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that Yahweh’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

「當猶大王希西家的日子，有摩利沙人彌迦對猶大眾百姓預言說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：錫安要被耕種像一塊田地，耶路撒冷要變為廢墟，這殿的山必像叢林的高處。』「猶大王希西家和猶大人豈是把他處死呢？希西家豈不是敬畏耶和華，懇求耶和華施恩嗎？耶和華就改變心意，不把所說的災禍降與他們。若處死這人，我們就做了大惡，害死自己了。」

他在急難的時候懇求耶和華－他的神，並在他列祖的神面前極其謙卑。

就是聽見我指着這地方和其上居民所說的話，你的心就軟化，在我面前謙卑下來，撕裂衣服，向我哭泣，因此我應允你。這是耶和華說的。看哪，我必使你歸到你祖先那裏，平安地進入墳墓，我要降於這地方和其上居民的一切災禍，你不會親眼看見。』」他們就去把這話回覆王。

要在主面前謙卑，他就使你們高升。

「亞哈在我面前這樣謙卑，你看見了嗎？因為他在我面前謙卑，所以在他的日子，我不降這禍；到他兒子的時候，我必降這禍於他的家。」

你要對他說：『耶和華如此說：你殺了人，還要取得他的產業嗎？』又要對他說：『耶和華如此說：狗在何處舔拿伯的血，狗也必在何處舔你的血。』」

他的禱告，神怎樣應允他，他未謙卑以前的一切罪愆過犯，以及在何處建築丘壇，設立亞舍拉和雕刻的偶像，看哪，都寫在何賽的書上。

以賽亞對希西家說：「你要聽耶和華的話：耶和華說：『看哪，日子將到，凡你家裏所有的，並你祖先積蓄到如今的一切，都要被擄到巴比倫去，不留下一樣；從你本身所生的孩子，其中必有被擄到巴比倫王宮當太監的。』」希西家對以賽亞說：「你所說耶和華的話甚好。」因為他想：「在我有生之年豈不是有太平和安穩嗎？」

「他們要承認自己的罪孽和祖先的罪孽，就是背叛我，行事與我作對的過犯。我也行事與他們作對，把他們遣送到敵人之地。那時，他們未受割禮的心若肯謙卑，也服了罪孽的懲罰，

但他不像他父親瑪拿西在耶和華面前那樣謙卑下來。這亞們的罪越犯越大。

耶和華說：『看哪，日子將到，凡你家裏所有的，並你祖先積蓄到如今的一切，都要被擄到巴比倫去，不留下一樣；從你本身所生的孩子，其中必有被擄到巴比倫王宮當太監的。』」希西家對以賽亞說：「你所說耶和華的話甚好。」因為他想：「在我有生之年必有太平和安穩。」
