Then Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah had a change of heart. He was sorry he had been proud. The people of Jerusalem were also sorry they had sinned. So the Lord wasn’t angry with them as long as Hezekiah was king.

But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself and repented of his pride, as did the people of Jerusalem. So the Lord’s anger did not fall on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart— he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem— so the LORD’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

But then Hezekiah and the residents of Jerusalem humbled themselves and abandoned their pride, and the LORD was not angry with them for the rest of Hezekiah’s reign.

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that Yahweh’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

『當猶大王希西家的日子、有摩利沙人彌迦對猶大的眾民傳神言說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：錫安必被人犂像田地；耶路撒冷必變為荒堆；這殿的山必像森林的山丘。」猶大王希西家和猶大眾人哪有把他治死呢？希西家豈不是敬畏永恆主，求他的情面；而永恆主就改變心意、不降他所說要降與他們的災禍麼？但我們呢、我們竟要行個大惡、來害自己的性命了！』

他在急難時候、求永恆主他的上帝的情面，並且在他列祖的上帝面前非常謙卑。

你一聽見永恆主的話、指着這地方和這地方的居民所說的，你的心便軟下來，你就在上帝面前自己謙卑；你既在我面前自己謙卑，又撕裂了衣服，又在我面前哭泣，因此我、我也垂聽你的禱告：這是永恆主發神諭說的。看吧，我必將你收殮歸你列祖，使你安安然然被收殮入墳墓。我所要降於這地方和這地方居民的一切災禍、你也不至於親眼看到。」』聽了所說的，他們就將這話回覆了王。

你們要在主面前自己謙卑，主就使你們升高。

『亞哈在我面前怎樣自己謙卑、你看見了麼？因為他在我面前自己謙卑，所以他在世的日子我不降這災禍；乃是到他兒子的日子我才要降這災禍於他的家。』

你要告訴他說：「永恆主這麼說：『你殺了人，又取得他的產業麼？』」你要告訴他說：「永恆主這麼說：『狗在甚麼地方舔拿伯的血，狗也必在甚麼地方舔你的血，你的。』」

他怎樣禱告，上帝怎樣應允他所懇求的，他未自己謙卑以前所犯的一切罪和不忠實，他在甚麼地方築了邱壇、設立了亞舍拉神木和雕像：這些事都寫在那些見異象者的《言行錄》上呢。

以賽亞對希西家說：『你要聽永恆主的話。看吧，日子必到，凡你家中所有的、和你列祖所積聚到今日的、都必被帶到巴比倫去，不留下一樣；這是永恆主說的。並且從你本身出的、就是你所生的、子孫中、也必有人被拿去，在巴比倫王宮裏當太監。』希西家對以賽亞說：『你所說永恆主的話很好啊。』他心裏說：『這豈不是說至少在我活着的日子有太平穩固的景況麼？』

『他們若承認自己的罪愆、和他們祖宗的罪愆、就是他們的不忠實、對我不忠實、並且行事跟我作對。因而我、我行事也跟他們作對，我把他們帶到他們仇敵之地；那時他們沒受割禮的心若自己謙卑，那時他們若情願接受他們的罪罰，

他沒有在永恆主面前自己謙卑，像他父親瑪拿西自己謙卑；這亞們所犯的罪過反而越來越多。

看吧，日子必到，凡你家中所有的、和你列祖所積聚到今日的、必都被帶到巴比倫去、不留下一樣：這是永恆主說的。並且從你本身出的、就是你所生的、子孫中、也必有人被擄去，在巴比倫王宮裏當太監。』希西家對以賽亞說：『你所說永恆主的話很好啊。』他心裏說：『至少在我活着的日子有太平穩固的景況就好啦。』
