Then Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah had a change of heart. He was sorry he had been proud. The people of Jerusalem were also sorry they had sinned. So the Lord wasn’t angry with them as long as Hezekiah was king.

But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself and repented of his pride, as did the people of Jerusalem. So the Lord’s anger did not fall on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart— he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem— so the LORD’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart,[ both] he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

But then Hezekiah and the residents of Jerusalem humbled themselves and abandoned their pride, and the LORD was not angry with them for the rest of Hezekiah’s reign.

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that Yahweh’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

“犹大王希西迦执政期间，摩利沙人弥迦对犹大众人预言说，“‘万军之耶和华说锡安必被夷为平地，耶路撒冷必沦为废墟，圣殿山要成为一片荒林。’“但犹大王希西迦和犹大众人并没有处死他。希西迦敬畏耶和华，求祂开恩，耶和华才施怜悯，没有把原本预备的灾祸降给他们。若处死这人，我们会大祸临头。”

在困苦中，玛拿西祈求他的上帝耶和华的帮助，并且在他祖先的上帝面前极其谦卑。

因为你听到我对这地方及这里居民的警告，便悔改，在我面前谦卑、撕裂衣服，向我哭泣，我垂听了你的祷告。这是我耶和华说的。我会让你平安入土，你不会看到我要降给这地方及这里居民的一切灾难。’”他们便回去禀告王。

你们要在主面前谦卑，祂必擢升你们。

“你看见亚哈在我面前如何痛悔了吗？因为他在我面前痛悔，我不会在他有生之日降灾，我要等他儿子执政的时候，才降灾给他家。”

你要对他说，‘耶和华说，你杀了人，还要夺他的产业吗？’然后告诉他，耶和华说，‘狗在哪里舔拿伯的血，也必在哪里舔你的血。’”

他的祷告，上帝的答复，他在谦卑下来之前的罪恶和不忠，他在哪里修筑丘坛以及设立亚舍拉神像和其他偶像的事，都记在《先知书》上。

以赛亚对希西迦说：“你听着，耶和华说，‘终有一天，你宫中的一切和你祖先积攒到现在的一切，必一件不留地被掳到巴比伦。这是耶和华说的。你的子孙当中必有人被掳去，在巴比伦王的宫中做太监。’”希西迦对以赛亚说：“耶和华借你说的话很好。”因为他想：“至少我有生之年将平安稳妥。”

“如果他们承认自己和祖先的罪，就是背叛我、与我作对的恶行——以致我与他们作对，把他们流放到敌国；如果他们顽固的心谦卑下来，甘愿接受刑罚，

可是，亚们没有像他父亲玛拿西一样在耶和华面前谦卑下来。相反，他犯的罪日益增加。

‘终有一天，你王宫中的一切和你祖先积攒到现在的一切，必一件不留地被掳到巴比伦。这是耶和华说的。你的子孙当中必有人被掳去，在巴比伦王的宫中做太监。’”希西迦对以赛亚说：“耶和华借你说的话很好。”因为他想：“我有生之年将平安稳妥。”
