They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world— the work of human hands.

They were comparing the God of Jerusalem to the gods of the other nations of the world. But those gods were only statues. They had been made by human hands.

And they spoke of the God of Jerusalem as they spoke of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.

These officers talked about the God of Jerusalem as though he were one of the pagan gods, made by human hands.

They spoke against the God of Jerusalem like they had spoken against the gods of the peoples of the earth, which were made by human hands.

但如今，我揀選了耶路撒冷作為我名所在之地，又揀選了大衛來治理我的以色列子民。』」

我鄙棄撒瑪利亞人所拜的牛犢，我要向他們發怒，他們到什麼時候才能潔身自守呢？這牛犢是以色列的工匠造的，並不是神，必被砸得粉碎。

耶和華啊，願你殺戮惡人！嗜血成性的人啊，你們走開！他們惡言頂撞你，你的仇敵褻瀆你的名。

該怎樣回覆外國的使者呢？要告訴他們：「耶和華建立了錫安，祂困苦的子民必得到保護。」

把他們的神像丟進火中燒毀。因為那些神像只是人用木頭石頭製造的，根本不是神。

耶和華的城座落在聖山上。在雅各的住處中，祂最喜愛錫安的門。上帝的城啊，人們傳揚你的榮耀。（細拉）

他們譏諷嘲笑，言語惡毒，狂妄地以暴力相威脅。他們褻瀆上天，詆譭大地。上帝的子民也跟隨他們，聽從他們的話。他們說：「上帝怎能知道？至高者會察覺嗎？」

『凡雕刻或鑄造耶和華所憎惡的神像，並偷偷供奉的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』

外族人的神像是人用金銀造的。它們有口不能說，有眼不能看，有耳不能聽，口中毫無氣息。那些製造它們、信靠它們的人也會和它們一樣。

上帝在猶大人人皆知，在以色列威名遠揚。祂的家在耶路撒冷，祂的居所在錫安山。

但你們現在來到了錫安山，永活上帝的城邑，天上的耶路撒冷，歡聚著千萬天使的地方。

難道你們不知道我和我的祖先怎樣對付列國嗎？列國的神明哪個能從我手中救自己的國家呢？我祖先所滅的列國中，有哪國的神明能從我手中救自己的國民呢？難道你們的上帝能從我手中救你們嗎？所以，不要讓希西迦欺騙、迷惑你們，也不要相信他！任何民族或國家的神明都不能從我和我祖先手中救他的人民，何況你們的上帝呢？』」亞述王的使者還用別的話譭謗耶和華上帝和祂的僕人希西迦。西拿基立還寫信侮辱以色列的上帝耶和華說：「既然列邦的神明都不能從我手中救自己的人民，希西迦的上帝也不例外。」

他們信奉的毫無價值，他們從林中砍一棵樹，工匠用木頭雕刻偶像，

偶像上的銀片來自他施，金片來自烏法，都是匠人的製品，這些偶像穿的藍色和紫色衣服是巧匠製作的。

因為耶和華已經揀選了錫安，願意將錫安作為祂的居所。祂說：「這是我永遠的居所；我要住在這裡，因為我喜愛這地方。

因為他揮拳對抗上帝，藐視全能者，拿著堅盾傲慢地挑戰祂。

我要審判他們，因為他們犯罪作惡，背棄我，給別的神明燒香，又跪拜自己製造的神像。

你們必在那裡供奉人用木石造的不會看、不會聽、不會吃、不會聞的神像。

惡人為何輕視上帝，以為上帝不會追究呢？但你已看到世人的疾苦，隨時伸出援手。困苦無助的人投靠你，你是孤兒的幫助。

祂揀選了猶大支派，祂所喜愛的錫安山。

我曾打死過獅子和熊。這未受割禮的非利士人竟敢向永活上帝的軍隊罵陣，他的下場也必像獅子和熊一樣。

他用一半木頭烤肉，飽餐一頓，並用火取暖，說：「啊！我這裡有火，真暖和。」他用另一半木頭造了一個神，一個偶像，向它俯伏叩拜、禱告說：「你是我的神明，求你拯救我。」他們愚昧無知，因為眼睛被封住以致看不見，心竅被塞住以致不明白。他們無人思想，無人明白，無人醒悟說：「我用一半木頭當柴烤餅、烤肉吃，我豈能用另一半木頭造可憎的神像？我豈能向一塊木頭叩拜？」他們以灰為食，心智迷糊，走入歧途，不能自救，也不會說：「我右手拿的神像不是假的嗎？」

以色列人和猶大人從一開始就行我視為惡的事，他們的所作所為惹我發怒。這是耶和華說的。
