驿卒就把王和众首领的信，遵着王命传遍以色列和犹大。信内说：“以色列人哪，你们当转向耶和华亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，好叫他转向你们这脱离亚述王手的余民。

信差就带着王和众领袖发出的书信，走遍全以色列和犹大，照着王的吩咐，宣告说：“以色列人哪，你们应当转向耶和华，亚伯拉罕、以撒和以色列的神，使他也转向你们这些在亚述王手中逃脱的余民。

於是郵傳者遵王命、傳王與牧伯之書於以色列、及猶大地、曰、以色列人歟、爾當復歸亞伯拉罕以撒以色列之上帝耶和華、俾其轉向爾曹、脫於亞述王手之遺民、

王與群伯、使趨承者致書、遍以色列猶大二族、曰、以色列族、當歸亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列之上帝、凡不見害於亞述列王之遺民者、必蒙耶和華祐、

趨承者遵王命、將王與牧伯之書、傳遍以色列及猶大、書曰、以色列人、爾當歸主亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之天主、若是、則主必復眷顧復眷顧原文作歸爾曹所餘、脫於亞述列王之手者、

At the king’s command, couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with letters from the king and from his officials, which read:“ People of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, that he may return to you who are left, who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.

Messengers went all through Israel and Judah. They carried letters from the king and his officials. The king had ordered them to do that. The letters said,“ People of Israel, return to the Lord. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. Return to him. Then he will return to you who are left in the land. You have escaped from the power of the kings of Assyria.

So couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his princes, as the king had commanded, saying,“ O people of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.

At the king’s command, runners were sent throughout Israel and Judah. They carried letters that said:“ O people of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he will return to the few of us who have survived the conquest of the Assyrian kings.

So the couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with letters from the hand of the king and his officials, and according to the king’s command, saying,“ Israelites, return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel so that he may return to those of you who remain, who have escaped the grasp of the kings of Assyria.

The couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with the letters from the hand of the king and his princes, even according to the command of the king, saying,“ Sons of Israel, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that He may return to those of you who escaped and are left from the hand of the kings of Assyria.

Then the runners went throughout all Israel and Judah with the letters from the king and his leaders, and spoke according to the command of the king:“ Children of Israel, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel; then He will return to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.

So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may return to the remnant that are escaped of you out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

So the couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with letters from the hand of the king and his officials, and according to the king’s command, saying,“ Israelites, return to Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel so that He may return to those of you who remain, who have escaped from the grasp of the kings of Assyria.

Messengers delivered the letters from the king and his officials throughout Israel and Judah. This royal edict read:“ O Israelites, return to the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so he may return to you who have been spared from the kings of Assyria.

So the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying,“ You children of Israel, turn again to Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may return to the remnant of you that have escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

於是騎御用快馬的信差奉王命催促，急忙起行；敕令傳遍了書珊城堡。

通報的彼此相遇，送信的彼此相遇，報告巴比倫王，城的四方都被攻下了，

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。

亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來攻擊他，不幫助他，反倒欺負他。

「我的日子比奔跑者更快，急速過去，不見福樂。

亞述王普勒來攻擊這地，米拿現給他一千他連得銀子，為了請普勒幫助他鞏固他所掌握的國度。

耶和華說：「以色列啊，你若回轉，回轉歸向我，若從我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，不再猶疑不定，

以色列啊，你要歸向耶和華－你的神，你因自己的罪孽跌倒了。

你要對他們說，主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我斷不喜悅惡人死亡，惟喜悅惡人轉離他所行的道而存活。以色列家啊，你們回轉，回轉離開惡道吧！何必死亡呢？

當趁耶和華可尋找的時候尋找他，在他接近的時候求告他。惡人當離棄自己的道路，不義的人應除掉自己的意念。歸向耶和華，耶和華就必憐憫他；當歸向我們的神，因為他必廣行赦免。

因此，以色列的神激發亞述王普勒，就是亞述王提革拉‧毗列色的心，他擄掠了呂便人、迦得人、瑪拿西半支派的人，把他們帶到哈臘、哈博、哈拉與歌散河邊，直到今日。

耶和華啊，求你使我們回轉歸向你，我們就得以回轉。求你更新我們的年日，像古時一樣，

國內剩下的人若還有十分之一，也必被吞滅。然而如同大樹與橡樹，雖被砍伐，殘幹卻仍存留，聖潔的苗裔是它的殘幹。」

若不是萬軍之耶和華為我們留下一些倖存者，我們早已變成所多瑪，像蛾摩拉一樣了。

然而你們現在要禁食，哭泣，哀號，一心歸向我。這是耶和華說的。你們要撕裂心腸，不要撕裂衣服。歸向耶和華－你們的神，因為他有恩惠，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且會改變心意，不降那災難。誰知道他也許會回心轉意，留下餘福，就是獻給耶和華－你們神的素祭和澆酒祭。

要親近神，神就必親近你們。有罪的人哪，要潔淨你們的手！心懷二意的人哪，要清潔你們的心！
