但祭司太少，不能剝盡燔祭牲的皮，所以他們的弟兄利未人幫助他們，直等燔祭的事完了，又等別的祭司自潔了；因為利未人誠心自潔，勝過祭司。

約西亞從羣畜中賜給在那裏所有的人民，綿羊羔和山羊羔三萬隻，牛三千隻，作逾越節的祭物；這都是出自王的產業中。約西亞的眾首領也樂意將犧牲給百姓和祭司利未人；又有管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亞、耶歇將羊羔二千六百隻，牛三百隻，給祭司作逾越節的祭物。

所以經上說：他升上高天的時候，擄掠了仇敵，將各樣的恩賜賞給人。（

王的本分是在節期、月朔、安息日，就是以色列家一切的節期，奉上燔祭、素祭、奠祭。他要預備贖罪祭、素祭、燔祭，和平安祭，為以色列家贖罪。」

正月間他們不能守；因為自潔的祭司尚不敷用，百姓也沒有聚集在耶路撒冷；

且因我心中愛慕我神的殿，就在預備建造聖殿的材料之外，又將我自己積蓄的金銀獻上，建造我神的殿，就是俄斐金三千他連得、精鍊的銀子七千他連得，以貼殿牆。金子做金器，銀子做銀器，並藉匠人的手製造一切。今日有誰樂意將自己獻給耶和華呢？」於是，眾族長和以色列各支派的首領、千夫長、百夫長，並監管王工的官長，都樂意獻上。他們為神殿的使用獻上金子五千他連得零一萬達利克，銀子一萬他連得，銅一萬八千他連得，鐵十萬他連得。凡有寶石的都交給革順人耶歇，送入耶和華殿的府庫。因這些人誠心樂意獻給耶和華，百姓就歡喜，大衛王也大大歡喜。
