但祭司太少，不能剥尽燔祭牲的皮，所以他们的弟兄利未人帮助他们，直等燔祭的事完了，又等别的祭司自洁了；因为利未人诚心自洁，胜过祭司。

约西亚从群畜中赐给在那里所有的人民，绵羊羔和山羊羔三万只，牛三千只，作逾越节的祭物；这都是出自王的产业中。约西亚的众首领也乐意将牺牲给百姓和祭司利未人；又有管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亚、耶歇将羊羔二千六百只，牛三百只，给祭司作逾越节的祭物。

所以经上说：“他升上高天的时候，掳掠了仇敌，将各样的恩赐赏给人。”

王的本分是在节期、月朔、安息日，就是以色列家一切的节期，奉上燔祭、素祭、奠祭。他要预备赎罪祭、素祭、燔祭，和平安祭，为以色列家赎罪。”

正月间他们不能守；因为自洁的祭司尚不敷用，百姓也没有聚集在耶路撒冷；

且因我心中爱慕我神的殿，就在预备建造圣殿的材料之外，又将我自己积蓄的金银献上，建造我神的殿，就是俄斐金三千他连得、精炼的银子七千他连得，以贴殿墙。金子做金器，银子做银器，并藉匠人的手制造一切。今日有谁乐意将自己献给耶和华呢？”于是，众族长和以色列各支派的首领、千夫长、百夫长，并监管王工的官长，都乐意献上。他们为神殿的使用献上金子五千他连得零一万达利克，银子一万他连得，铜一万八千他连得，铁十万他连得。凡有宝石的都交给革顺人耶歇，送入耶和华殿的府库。因这些人诚心乐意献给耶和华，百姓就欢喜，大卫王也大大欢喜。
