但祭司人數太少，剝不完燔祭牲的皮，於是他們的親族利未人就來幫助他們，直到獻完燔祭，並且別的祭司也潔淨了自己，因為利未人比祭司更誠心潔淨自己。

約西亞從自己的產業中，捐出三萬隻綿羊羔和山羊羔，以及三千頭公牛，賜給所有在場的人做逾越節的祭牲。他的眾官員也自願為民眾、祭司和利未人捐獻。管理上帝殿的希勒迦、撒迦利亞和耶歇獻出兩千六百隻羊羔和三百頭牛，給祭司做逾越節的祭牲。

因此聖經上說：「祂升上高天時，帶著許多俘虜，將恩賜賞給眾人。」

君王要在節期、朔日、安息日等以色列人一切的節期獻上燔祭、素祭和奠祭。他要預備贖罪祭、素祭、燔祭和平安祭的祭物，為以色列人贖罪。

他們不能在一月守節期，因為潔淨自己的祭司不夠多，民眾也沒有聚集在耶路撒冷。

而且，我因為愛慕我上帝的殿，除了預備以上物品外，還把自己珍藏的金銀獻上，用來建造我上帝的殿。我獻上一百噸俄斐金、二百四十噸純銀，用來貼殿牆，供匠人製作金器銀器。今天，有誰樂意向耶和華奉獻？」結果，各族長、以色列各支派的首領、千夫長、百夫長和負責王室事務的官員都樂意奉獻，他們為上帝的殿奉獻了一百七十噸金子，三百四十噸銀子，六百二十噸銅，三千四百噸鐵。有寶石的人都把寶石交到耶和華殿的庫房，由革順人耶歇保管。因為他們誠心誠意地把東西獻給上帝，百姓歡喜不已，大衛王也非常歡喜。
