跑文書的帶着王和他的大臣手發的詔書就去、走遍以色列和猶大，並且遵照王所吩咐的說：『以色列人哪，你們要轉向永恆主、亞伯拉罕以撒以色列的上帝，好叫他轉向你們這逃脫亞述王掌握的餘民。

詔書由跑文書的人經手送到王的各省，說要在一日之間、在十二月、就是亞達月、十三日，將所有的猶大人、無論老少幼小或婦女、全都消滅屠殺滅盡，並且奪取他們的資財作為掠物。

他們直嗤笑耶穌，曉得她已經死掉了。

跑文書的人騎着國事用的快馬，迫於王命，急急忙忙地出發；勅令也在書珊宮堡裏頒布出去。

『我的日子比跑信的更快；它疾飛過去，不見福樂。

民眾站着觀看，議員們卻嗤笑着說：『別人他救了；這個人如果是上帝所膏立的，是那蒙揀選的，讓他救自己吧。』

法利賽人是貪愛銀錢的；他們聽見這一切話，就嗤笑耶穌。

又另有人受了戲弄和鞭打、甚至捆鎖和監禁的經驗。

他們一聽到死人之復活，有的就譏刺，有的卻說：『關於這事、我們還要再聽你。』

末底改奉亞哈隨魯王的名來寫，又用王的打印戒指蓋上了印；那些文書是由跑文書的人經手騎上御養的馬、國事用的快馬、傳送的。

但是和倫人參巴拉和為奴的亞捫人多比雅跟亞拉伯人基善聽見了，就嗤笑我們，藐視我們，說：『你們幹的甚麼事？是你們要背叛王麼？』

羈押耶穌的人戲弄他，打他，又蒙着他的眼，問他說：『說豫言吧；打你的是誰？』

跑文書的人領着王命急急忙忙地出發，勅令在書珊宮堡裏頒布出去。王和哈曼坐下來喝酒；書珊城卻慌慌亂亂。

我竟成了一個給朋友譏笑的人：我，我這呼求上帝，而上帝應了的人，一個又正義又純全的人竟成了人所譏笑的！
