信差遵照王的命令帶著王和眾官員的信走遍以色列和猶大，宣告說：「以色列人啊，你們應當歸向亞伯拉罕、以撒和以色列的上帝耶和華，好使祂轉向你們這些從亞述王手中逃脫的餘民。

諭旨由信差送到王的各省，限令在一天之內，即十二月，也就是亞達月十三日，把猶太人的男女老少全部剷除、殺光、滅盡，並奪取他們的財物。

眾人就譏笑祂，因為他們明明知道那女孩死了。

信差接到王的命令，急忙騎上王室快馬上路。在書珊城也頒佈了諭旨。

「我的年日比信差還快，匆匆而過，不見幸福。

百姓站著觀看，官長嘲笑耶穌說：「祂救了別人，如果祂是上帝所選立的基督，讓祂救自己吧！」

法利賽人向來貪財，他們一面聽一面嗤笑耶穌。

有些人遭受戲弄和鞭打，還有些人遭受捆鎖和囚禁。

聽見保羅提到死人復活的事，有些人就嘲笑他，還有些人說：「我們改天再聽你講這個。」

末底改奉亞哈隨魯王的名寫諭旨，用王的戒指蓋印，讓信差騎王室快馬送往各地。

但和倫人參巴拉和官長亞捫人多比雅，以及阿拉伯人基善聽說後，就譏笑我們，藐視我們，說：「你們在做什麽？想要背叛王嗎？」

看守耶穌的人嘲弄祂，毆打祂，蒙住祂的眼睛，對祂說：「說預言吧！是誰在打你？」

羅得聽了就去通知他女兒的未婚夫說：「快走吧！耶和華要毀滅這城了！」可是他們卻以為他是在開玩笑。

信差奉王的命令急忙上路，諭旨也在書珊城裡頒佈了。王和哈曼坐下飲酒，書珊城一片慌亂。

我這求告上帝並蒙祂應允的人竟成了朋友的笑柄，我這公義純全的人竟成了笑柄。
