Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.

當日迦得詣大衛曰、爾往為耶和華築壇、在耶布斯人亞勞拿之禾場、遂依迦得之言、遵耶和華命而往、亞勞拿望見王與僕從至、遂出、伏地拜王、曰、我主我王蒞臨僕所曷故、大衛曰、欲購禾場、為耶和華築壇、使疫止於民間、亞勞拿曰、我主我王可依視為善者、取而獻之、牛為燔祭、打穀之具、與牛之軛為柴、王歟、亞勞拿悉以此物與王、又曰、願爾上帝耶和華悅納爾、王曰、不然、我必依其值而購之、不費財之燔祭、我不欲獻於我上帝耶和華、於是大衛以金五十舍客勒、購禾場與牛、在彼為耶和華築壇、獻燔祭及酬恩祭、耶和華允其所祈、垂顧斯土、疫癘止於以色列中、
