耶和华如此说：看哪，我必照着在犹大王面前所读那书上记载的一切诅咒，降祸于这地方和其上的居民。因为他们离弃我，向别神烧香，用他们手所做的一切惹我发怒，所以我的愤怒必倒在这地方，总不止息。’

众祭司长和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列国一切可憎的事，玷污耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华—他们列祖的神因为爱惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他们。他们却嘲笑神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华向他的百姓大发烈怒，甚至无法可救。

我要使这地变荒凉，甚至占领这地的敌人都惊讶。

耶和华就必将奇异的灾害，就是严重持久的灾害和长期难治的疾病，加在你和你后裔的身上。

“你若不听从耶和华—你神的话，不谨守遵行他的一切诫命律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的，这一切的诅咒必临到你身上，追随你：你在城里必受诅咒，在田间也必受诅咒。你的筐子和你的揉面盆都必受诅咒。你身所生的，你地所产的，以及牛犊、羔羊，都必受诅咒。你出也受诅咒，入也受诅咒。耶和华因你作恶离弃他，必在你手里所做的一切，使诅咒、困扰、责罚临到你，直到你被除灭，直到你迅速灭亡。

我的百姓竟忘记我，向那虚无的神明烧香，它们使百姓在所行的路上、在古道上绊跌，去行未修筑的斜路，他们的地就变为荒凉，长久被人嘲笑；凡经过这地的必惊骇摇头。

这殿虽然崇高，将来凡经过的人必惊讶，嗤笑，说：‘耶和华为何向这地和这殿如此行呢？’
