但祭司人數太少，剝不完燔祭牲的皮，於是他們的親族利未人就來幫助他們，直到獻完燔祭，並且別的祭司也潔淨了自己，因為利未人比祭司更誠心潔淨自己。

The priests, however, were too few to skin all the burnt offerings; so their relatives the Levites helped them until the task was finished and until other priests had been consecrated, for the Levites had been more conscientious in consecrating themselves than the priests had been.

But there weren’t enough priests to skin all the burnt offerings. So their relatives, the Levites, helped them. They worked until the task was finished. By that time other priests had been set apart to the Lord. The Levites had been more careful than the priests when they set themselves apart.

But the priests were too few and could not flay all the burnt offerings, so until other priests had consecrated themselves, their brothers the Levites helped them, until the work was finished— for the Levites were more upright in heart than the priests in consecrating themselves.

But there were too few priests to prepare all the burnt offerings. So their relatives the Levites helped them until the work was finished and more priests had been purified, for the Levites had been more conscientious about purifying themselves than the priests had been.

利未人宰殺逾越節的羊羔，祭司從他們手中接過血，灑在壇上，又剝去祭牲的皮。

他們不能在一月守節期，因為潔淨自己的祭司不夠多，民眾也沒有聚集在耶路撒冷。

我已從以色列人中選出你們的利未親族歸給我，協助你們在會幕中司職。你和你兒子要盡祭司的本分，負責祭壇和至聖所的一切事務。祭司的職分是我賞賜給你們的，外人若近前來，必被處死。」

上帝是我的盾牌，祂拯救心地正直的人。

利未人被潔淨、當作搖祭獻上以後，就可以進會幕司職，

他們要遵守你的吩咐，看守整個聖幕，但不可接近聖所的器具和祭壇，以免他們和你們都死亡。

公正的審判必重現，心地正直的人都必擁護。

對他們說：「利未人啊，請聽我說！現在你們要潔淨自己，也要潔淨你們祖先的上帝耶和華的殿，除去聖所中的污穢之物。

把他們交給亞倫父子們，替以色列人在會幕中司職，為以色列人贖罪，免得以色列人因接近聖所而遭禍。」

耶和華啊，我洗手表明清白，再走到你的壇前，

我的上帝啊，我知道你洞察人心，喜愛正直的人。我懷著正直的心甘願獻上這一切，我也看見你這裡的子民甘心樂意地將財物獻給你。

然後照上帝的僕人摩西的律法照常供職。祭司從利未人手中接過血，灑在壇上。因為會眾中間有許多人沒有潔淨自己，利未人就為所有不潔之人宰逾越節的羊羔獻給耶和華。
