He stationed the Levites in the temple of the Lord with cymbals, harps and lyres in the way prescribed by David and Gad the king’s seer and Nathan the prophet; this was commanded by the Lord through his prophets.

Hezekiah stationed the Levites in the Lord’ s temple. They had cymbals, harps and lyres. They did everything in the way King David, his prophet Gad, and Nathan the prophet had required. The Lord had given commands about all these things through his prophets.

And he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king’s seer and of Nathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets.

King Hezekiah then stationed the Levites at the Temple of the Lord with cymbals, lyres, and harps. He obeyed all the commands that the Lord had given to King David through Gad, the king’s seer, and the prophet Nathan.

四千人守门，四千人用大卫提供的乐器颂赞耶和华。

负责歌乐的亚萨子孙依照大卫、亚萨、希幔和王的先见耶杜顿的吩咐，站在自己的岗位上；殿门守卫都看守各门，不必离开工作岗位，因为他们的弟兄利未人为他们预备了祭物。

利未各宗族的族长负责歌乐，他们住在圣殿的房间里，昼夜专职于这项工作，不用做别的事。

大卫指派一些利未人在耶和华的约柜前事奉，颂扬、称谢和赞美以色列的上帝耶和华。为首的是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别·以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲钹。

大卫又吩咐利未人的族长去派他们的族人做歌乐手，伴着琴瑟和钹的乐声欢唱。于是，利未人指派约珥的儿子希幔和他的亲族比利迦的儿子亚萨，以及他的亲族米拉利的后代古沙雅的儿子以探。协助他们的亲族有撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、比拿雅、玛西雅、玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅，以及守门的俄别·以东和耶利。歌乐手希幔、亚萨和以探负责敲铜钹，撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、玛西雅、比拿雅负责鼓瑟，调用高音。玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅、俄别·以东、耶利、亚撒西雅负责带领弹琴，调用低音。利未人的族长基拿尼雅善于歌唱，是歌乐手的领班。

第二天早上，耶和华对大卫的先见——迦得先知说：

耶和华上帝感动犹大人，使他们一心遵从王与众官员奉祂的指示所下的命令。

希幔和耶杜顿负责用号、钹及其他乐器伴奏歌颂上帝。耶杜顿的子孙负责守门。

大卫王一生的事迹都记在撒母耳先见、拿单先知和迦得先见的史记上。

耶和华对大卫的先见迦得说：

一天，王对拿单先知说：“你看！我住在香柏木造的王宫中，但上帝的约柜还留在帐篷里。”拿单答道：“你只管照着自己的想法去做吧，因为耶和华与你同在。”当晚耶和华对拿单说：

耶和华派拿单先知去见大卫。拿单对大卫说：“一座城里有两个人，一个富有，一个贫穷。富人拥有许多牛羊，穷人除了自己买来养的一只母羊羔以外，什么也没有。他悉心饲养母羊羔，让它跟自己的儿女一起长大，他吃什么，羊也吃什么，他喝什么，羊也喝什么，还睡在他的怀中，就像他的女儿一样。一天，富人家中来了客人，他舍不得拿自己的牛羊款待客人，却宰了穷人的羊给客人吃。”大卫听后非常愤怒，对拿单说：“我凭永活的耶和华起誓，这人实在该死！他真是没有半点怜悯之心，他必须偿还那穷人四倍！”拿单对大卫说：“那人就是你！以色列的上帝耶和华这样说，‘我膏立你做以色列的王，从扫罗手中救你，

大卫说：“以上这一切都是耶和华亲手指示我的，让我明白工作的细节。”

又将心里构想的耶和华殿的院子、四周的房屋、殿的库房和圣物库房的图样都交给他。
