在以色列肥美的草場上，每二百隻羊便要獻上一隻。這些供物用來作素祭、燔祭和平安祭，為以色列人贖罪。這是主耶和華說的。

這一切都是上帝的作為，祂藉著基督使我們與祂和好，又把勸人與祂和好的職分賜給了我們。也就是說，上帝在基督裡使世人與自己和好，不再追究他們的過犯。祂已託付我們去傳揚這和好之道。所以我們現在是基督的大使，可以說上帝正藉著我們發出呼求。我們替基督懇求你們：要與上帝和好！上帝使無罪的基督擔當我們的罪，使我們可以藉著基督成為被上帝接納的義人。

如果我們還與上帝爲敵的時候，尚且可以藉著上帝兒子的死亡與上帝和好，和好後的我們豈不更要藉著祂兒子的生命得到拯救嗎？不但如此，我們藉著主耶穌基督與上帝和好之後，還要藉著祂在上帝面前歡喜。

在祭壇上獻燔祭和素祭，為他贖罪，他就潔淨了。
