若是受膏的祭司犯了罪、以致人民有了罪責，那麼他就應當為了他所犯的罪將一隻牛、是完全沒有殘疾的小公牛、供獻與永恆主為解罪祭。他要把公牛牽到會棚的出入處，在永恆主面前、按手在公牛頭上，在永恆主面前把公牛宰了。受膏的祭司要取些公牛的血，帶到會棚；祭司要把指頭蘸在血裏，在永恆主面前、對着聖所的帷帳彈點兒血七次。祭司要把點兒血抹在會棚內永恆主面前香壇的四角上，又把公牛所有的血都倒在會棚的出入處燔祭壇腳那裏。他要把解罪祭的公牛一切脂肪都取起來；就是把蓋臟腑上的脂肪和臟腑上的一切脂肪、兩個腰子、和腰子上的脂肪、靠近腰兩旁的脂肪、和肝上的附屬物、連腰子、都取下來，（正如從平安祭的牛取起來一樣）；祭司要把這些祭品燻在燔祭壇上。至於公牛的皮和所有的肉、連頭帶腿、以及臟腑和糞：就是整隻公牛，卻要搬出營外、潔淨的地方、倒灰的所在、在柴上用火燒牠：總要在倒灰的地方燒。『若是以色列全會眾在永恆主所吩咐不可行的事上作錯了事、去行其一件，以致有了罪責，而那件事又是隱藏着而大眾的眼看不出來的；他們所犯的罪一被知道了，大眾就要供獻一隻牛、是小公牛、為解罪祭，把這隻牛牽到會棚前；

現在你們要取七隻公牛、七隻公綿羊、到我僕人約伯那裏，為你們自己獻上燔祭；我僕人約伯就要為你們祈禱；因為我不按你們的冥頑不靈來辦你們，是看他的情面的；因為你們議論到我、不如我僕人約伯說的正確。』

巴蘭對巴勒說：『你在這裏給我築七座祭壇，在這裏給我豫備七隻公牛、七隻公綿羊。』

他叫那不認識罪的替我們成了罪，好叫我們在他裏面成為上帝之義。

上帝幫助了抬永恆主約櫃的利未人，他們就祭獻七隻公牛、七隻公綿羊。
