The priests went into the sanctuary of the Lord to purify it. They brought out to the courtyard of the Lord’s temple everything unclean that they found in the temple of the Lord. The Levites took it and carried it out to the Kidron Valley.

耶穌禱告完畢，就帶著門徒渡過汲淪溪，進了那裡的一個園子。

祭司把耶和華的約櫃抬進內殿，即至聖所，放在兩個基路伯天使的翅膀下面。

殿的至聖所用來安放耶和華的約櫃。至聖所長、寬和高都是九米，裡面全貼上純金，香柏木造的祭壇也包上純金。

眾人離開時，百姓都放聲大哭。王帶著所有的人過了汲淪溪，向曠野走去。

耶穌進入聖殿，趕走裡面做買賣的人，又推翻兌換錢幣之人的桌子和賣鴿子之人的凳子。耶穌斥責他們說：「聖經上說，『我的殿必稱為禱告的殿。』你們竟把它變成了賊窩。」

我要拯救你們脫離各樣的污穢之事。我要使你們五穀豐登，不讓饑荒侵害你們。

「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們好像粉飾的墳墓，外表好看，裡面卻裝滿了死人的骨頭和各樣污穢之物。

既然仿照天上的樣式所造的器具需要用祭牲的血來潔淨，天上的原物當然要用更美的祭物來潔淨。因為基督並非進入了人手所造的聖所，那只是真聖所的縮影，祂是進入了天堂，替我們來到上帝面前。

建成後的聖幕共分兩間，外面的一間稱為聖所，擺設了燈臺、桌子和聖餅。在第二道幔子後面的那一間叫至聖所，裡面有純金的香壇和包金的約櫃。約櫃裡珍藏著盛嗎哪的金罐、亞倫那根發過芽的手杖和兩塊刻著十誡的石版，上面有榮耀的基路伯天使，高展翅膀蓋著約櫃上面的施恩座。關於這些事，現在不能一一細說。這些東西都齊備了，祭司們便經常進入聖所，舉行敬拜。可是，只有大祭司有資格每年一次獨自進入至聖所，而且每次都要端著血進去，為自己和以色列人的過犯獻上。聖靈藉此指明，只要頭一個聖幕還在，進入至聖所的路就還沒有開啟。

所羅門又動工建造至聖所，長九米，寬九米，與殿的寬度一樣，裡面共貼了二十一噸純金。

王吩咐大祭司希勒迦及其副手和殿門守衛清除耶和華殿裡用來祭拜巴力、亞舍拉及天上萬象的一切器具，將其搬到耶路撒冷城外汲淪溪旁的田野燒掉，又把灰燼帶到伯特利。從前，猶大各王任命祭司在猶大各城和耶路撒冷周圍的邱壇燒香。現在，約西亞除掉那些祭司，又除掉向巴力、日、月、星辰及天上萬象燒香的祭司。他將亞舍拉神像從耶和華的殿裡搬到耶路撒冷城外汲淪溪旁燒掉，磨成灰撒在平民的墳墓上。
