My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before him and serve him, to minister before him and to burn incense.”

My sons, don’t fail to obey the Lord. He has chosen you to stand in front of him and work for him. He wants you to serve him and burn incense to him.”

My sons, do not now be negligent, for the Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.”

My sons, do not neglect your duties any longer! The Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to him.”

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they[ are] wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.

And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee[ shall minister] before the tabernacle of witness.And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you[ they are] given[ as] a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office[ unto you] as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates[ for] a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad[ plates for] a covering of the altar:[ To be] a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which[ is] not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and[ so] make themselves clean.Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering,[ even] fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD[ for] an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one[ for] a sin offering, and the other[ for] a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them[ for] an offering unto the LORD.Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
