But a prophet of Yahweh was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them,“ Behold, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.

「因你曾殘暴地對待同胞兄弟雅各，你必蒙羞，永遭毀滅。外族人掠奪雅各的財物，攻入耶路撒冷抽籤分贓時，你竟然袖手旁觀，就像他們的同夥一樣。你的親族遭難之日，你不該幸災樂禍；猶大人被滅的日子，你不該興高采烈；他們遭難的日子，你不該口出狂言；我子民遭難的日子，你不該闖進他們的城；他們遭難的日子，你不該幸災樂禍；他們遭難的日子，你不該趁火打劫；你不該站在路口截殺那些逃亡者；他們遭難的日子，你不該把倖存者交給仇敵。「耶和華懲罰萬國的日子近了。必按你的所作所為報應你，你的惡行必落到自己頭上。你們猶大人在我的聖山上怎樣飽飲憤怒，萬國也要照樣飲，且要大口吞下，直到他們完全消逝。

耶和華向他們發怒，把他們交在美索不達米亞王古珊·利薩田的手中，受古珊·利薩田統治八年。

他對王說：「耶和華說，『你放走了我決定要毀滅的人，所以你的命要抵他的命，你百姓的命要抵他百姓的命。』」

以賽亞先知來見希西迦王，問他：「這些人說了些什麼？他們從哪裡來？」希西迦答道：「他們來自遙遠的巴比倫。」以賽亞問：「他們在你宮裡看到了什麼？」希西迦答道：「他們看到了我宮中的一切。我把國庫裡的一切都給他們看了。」

說：「來吧，讓我們造一座城和一座高聳入雲的塔，這樣我們可以揚名天下，不致分散在地上。」

因此，他的上帝耶和華把他交在亞蘭王手中，亞蘭王就打敗他，把他的許多人民擄到大馬士革。他也被交在以色列王手中，損失慘重。

先知又來見以色列王，說：「你要加強防衛，做好準備，因為明年春天亞蘭王必捲土重來。」

「人子啊，泰爾譏笑耶路撒冷說，『哈哈！那通往列國的門戶已遭破壞，城門向我大開，她已荒涼，我必興盛。』所以主耶和華說，『泰爾啊，我要跟你作對，我要激起多國來攻擊你，就像大海掀起波浪一樣。

耶和華說：「亞述王有禍了！他是我的憤怒之棍，他手中拿著我發烈怒的杖。我要差遣他去攻打一個不虔敬的國家，一個惹我發怒的民族，去搶奪、擄掠他們的財物，像踐踏街上的泥土一樣踐踏他們。可是他卻不這樣想，心裡也不這樣盤算，他只想毀滅許多國家。

因為他們迫害你擊打過的人，嘲笑你所打傷之人的痛苦。

我沒有與作樂的人為伍，沒有與他們同樂。你要我獨坐一處，他們的罪惡使我怒氣填胸。為什麼我的痛楚無休無止？為什麼我的創傷無法醫治？難道你要像一條時斷時流的小溪讓我無法依靠嗎？

猶大王約沙法平安地回到耶路撒冷的宮中。哈拿尼先見的兒子耶戶出來迎接約沙法王，對他說：「你怎能幫助惡人，愛那憎恨耶和華的人呢？你這樣做已經惹怒耶和華了。

因此，耶和華向亞瑪謝發怒，祂派一個先知去見他，說：「這些神明既然不能從你手中救自己的人民，你為什麼還要祭拜它們呢？」先知的話還沒有說完，王就打斷他，說：「住口！誰立你做王的謀士了？你要自取滅亡嗎？」先知停了一下，又說：「我知道上帝已定意要毀滅你，因為你做了這事，不聽我的忠告。」

耶和華說：「你做了什麼事？你弟弟的血從地裡向我哭訴。

一位先知來見以色列王亞哈，說：「耶和華說，『你看見這大隊人馬了嗎？今天我必將他們交在你手裡，這樣你就知道我是耶和華。』」
