The men designated by name took the prisoners, and from the plunder they clothed all who were naked. They provided them with clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys. So they took them back to their fellow Israelites at Jericho, the City of Palms, and returned to Samaria.

Azariah, Berekiah, Jehizkiah and Amasa received the prisoners. From the goods that had been taken, they gave clothes to everyone who was naked. They gave them clothes, sandals, food, drink and healing lotion. They put all the weak people on donkeys. They took them back to their relatives at Jericho. Then they returned to Samaria. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees.

不是要把你的食物分給飢餓的人，把流浪的窮困人接到你的家裡，見到赤身露體的，給他衣服蔽體，不可逃避自己的骨肉而不顧恤嗎？

於是以法蓮人的幾個首領，就是約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利末的兒子比利家、沙龍的兒子耶希西家和哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒，起來阻擋從戰場回來的軍隊，

如果有弟兄或姊妹缺衣少食，而你們中間有人對他們說：“平平安安地去吧！願你們穿得暖，吃得飽。”卻不給他們身體所需用的，那有甚麼用處呢？

並且要有善行的見證：就如養育兒女，接待客旅，替聖徒洗腳，救濟困苦的人，盡力行各樣的善事等。

相反地，“如果你的仇敵餓了，就給他吃；如果渴了，就給他喝。因為你這樣作，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。”不可被惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

耶穌一上岸，就有城裡一個被鬼附著的人，迎面而來。這人已經很久不穿衣服，不住在家裡，只住在墳墓裡。

“只是我告訴你們聽道的人：當愛你們的仇敵，善待恨你們的人。

彼得就動身，跟他們一同去。到了之後，他們領他上樓。所有寡婦站在彼得旁邊哭，把多加和她們在一起的時候所做的內衣外衣拿給他看。

我們堅強的人，應該擔當不堅強的人的軟弱，不應該求自己的喜悅。

因為我餓了，你們給我吃；我渴了，你們給我喝；我作旅客，你們接待我；我赤身露體，你們給我衣服穿；我病了，你們看顧我；我在監裡，你們來看我。’義人就回答：‘主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了就給你吃，渴了就給你喝呢？又甚麼時候見你作旅客就接待你，赤身露體就給你衣服穿呢？或者甚麼時候見你病了，或在監裡就來看你呢？’王要回答他們：‘我實在告訴你們，你們所作的，只要是作在我一個最小的弟兄身上，就是作在我的身上了。’“王也要對左邊的說：‘你們這被咒詛的，離開我，到為魔鬼和他的使者所預備的永火裡去吧！因為我餓了，你們沒有給我吃；我渴了，你們沒有給我喝；我作旅客，你們沒有接待我；我赤身露體，你們沒有給我衣服穿；我病了，我在監裡，你們沒有看顧我。’他們就回答：‘主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了、渴了、作旅客、赤身露體、病了，或在監裡，卻沒有服事你呢？’王要回答他們：‘我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既然沒有作在一個最小的身上，就是沒有作在我的身上了。’

眾人就出來看發生了甚麼事。來到耶穌那裡，看見鬼已經離開的那人，穿著衣服，神志清醒，坐在耶穌腳前，他們就害怕。

那造我在母腹中的，不也造他嗎？造我們在母胎裡的，不是同一位嗎？我若不給窮人所要的，或使寡婦的眼所期待的落空；我若獨吃我的一點食物，孤兒卻沒有與我同吃；自我幼年時，孤兒與我一同長大，以我為父，從我出母腹以來，我就善待寡婦。我若見人因無衣服死亡，或貧窮人毫無遮蓋；他若不因我的羊毛得溫暖，他的心若不向我道謝；我若在城門見有支持我的，就揮手攻擊孤兒，就願我的肩頭從肩胛脫落，願我的前臂從上臂折斷；因為神所降的災難使我恐懼，因他的崇高我不敢妄為。

凡有世上財物的，看見弟兄窮乏，卻硬著心腸不理，他怎能說他心裡有神的愛呢？孩子們，我們愛人，不要只在言語和舌頭上，總要在行動和真誠上表現出來。
