The men designated by name took the prisoners, and from the plunder they clothed all who were naked. They provided them with clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys. So they took them back to their fellow Israelites at Jericho, the City of Palms, and returned to Samaria.

Azariah, Berekiah, Jehizkiah and Amasa received the prisoners. From the goods that had been taken, they gave clothes to everyone who was naked. They gave them clothes, sandals, food, drink and healing lotion. They put all the weak people on donkeys. They took them back to their relatives at Jericho. Then they returned to Samaria. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees.

不是要把你的食物分给饥饿的人，把流浪的穷困人接到你的家里，见到赤身露体的，给他衣服蔽体，不可逃避自己的骨肉而不顾恤吗？

于是以法莲人的几个首领，就是约哈难的儿子亚撒利雅、米实利末的儿子比利家、沙龙的儿子耶希西家和哈得莱的儿子亚玛撒，起来阻挡从战场回来的军队，

如果有弟兄或姊妹缺衣少食，而你们中间有人对他们说：“平平安安地去吧！愿你们穿得暖，吃得饱。”却不给他们身体所需用的，那有什么用处呢？

并且要有善行的见证：就如养育儿女，接待客旅，替圣徒洗脚，救济困苦的人，尽力行各样的善事等。

相反地，“如果你的仇敌饿了，就给他吃；如果渴了，就给他喝。因为你这样作，就是把炭火堆在他的头上。”不可被恶所胜，反要以善胜恶。

耶稣一上岸，就有城里一个被鬼附着的人，迎面而来。这人已经很久不穿衣服，不住在家里，只住在坟墓里。

“只是我告诉你们听道的人：当爱你们的仇敌，善待恨你们的人。

彼得就动身，跟他们一同去。到了之后，他们领他上楼。所有寡妇站在彼得旁边哭，把多加和她们在一起的时候所做的内衣外衣拿给他看。

我们坚强的人，应该担当不坚强的人的软弱，不应该求自己的喜悦。

因为我饿了，你们给我吃；我渴了，你们给我喝；我作旅客，你们接待我；我赤身露体，你们给我衣服穿；我病了，你们看顾我；我在监里，你们来看我。’义人就回答：‘主啊，我们什么时候见你饿了就给你吃，渴了就给你喝呢？又什么时候见你作旅客就接待你，赤身露体就给你衣服穿呢？或者什么时候见你病了，或在监里就来看你呢？’王要回答他们：‘我实在告诉你们，你们所作的，只要是作在我一个最小的弟兄身上，就是作在我的身上了。’“王也要对左边的说：‘你们这被咒诅的，离开我，到为魔鬼和他的使者所预备的永火里去吧！因为我饿了，你们没有给我吃；我渴了，你们没有给我喝；我作旅客，你们没有接待我；我赤身露体，你们没有给我衣服穿；我病了，我在监里，你们没有看顾我。’他们就回答：‘主啊，我们什么时候见你饿了、渴了、作旅客、赤身露体、病了，或在监里，却没有服事你呢？’王要回答他们：‘我实在告诉你们，这些事你们既然没有作在一个最小的身上，就是没有作在我的身上了。’

众人就出来看发生了什么事。来到耶稣那里，看见鬼已经离开的那人，穿着衣服，神志清醒，坐在耶稣脚前，他们就害怕。

那造我在母腹中的，不也造他吗？造我们在母胎里的，不是同一位吗？我若不给穷人所要的，或使寡妇的眼所期待的落空；我若独吃我的一点食物，孤儿却没有与我同吃；自我幼年时，孤儿与我一同长大，以我为父，从我出母腹以来，我就善待寡妇。我若见人因无衣服死亡，或贫穷人毫无遮盖；他若不因我的羊毛得温暖，他的心若不向我道谢；我若在城门见有支持我的，就挥手攻击孤儿，就愿我的肩头从肩胛脱落，愿我的前臂从上臂折断；因为神所降的灾难使我恐惧，因他的崇高我不敢妄为。

凡有世上财物的，看见弟兄穷乏，却硬着心肠不理，他怎能说他心里有神的爱呢？孩子们，我们爱人，不要只在言语和舌头上，总要在行动和真诚上表现出来。
