The men designated by name took the prisoners, and from the plunder they clothed all who were naked. They provided them with clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys. So they took them back to their fellow Israelites at Jericho, the City of Palms, and returned to Samaria.

Azariah, Berekiah, Jehizkiah and Amasa received the prisoners. From the goods that had been taken, they gave clothes to everyone who was naked. They gave them clothes, sandals, food, drink and healing lotion. They put all the weak people on donkeys. They took them back to their relatives at Jericho. Then they returned to Samaria. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees.

如果有弟兄姊妹缺衣少食，你们只是对他们说：“安心走吧，愿你们穿得暖，吃得饱”，却不帮助他解决实际困难，这有什么用呢？

并且在善事上有好名声，如教养儿女、接待外人、服侍圣徒、救助困苦、竭力做各种善事。

所以，“你的仇敌若饿了，就给他吃的；若渴了，就给他喝的；你这样做是把炭火堆在他头上。”你不可被恶所胜，反要以善胜恶。

耶稣上岸后，迎面遇见当地一个被鬼附身的人。那人长期赤身露体，不住在房屋里，只住在墓穴中。

“但是，我告诉你们这些听道的人，要爱你们的仇敌，要善待恨你们的人，

彼得便随他们一同到了那里，有人领他上楼。众寡妇都站在彼得周围哭，并把多加生前缝制的内衣、外衣给他看。

我们坚强的人要扶助软弱的人，分担他们的重担，不该只顾自己的喜好。

因为我饥饿时，你们给我吃的；我口渴时，你们给我喝的；我身在异乡时，你们接待我；我赤身露体时，你们给我穿的；我生病时，你们照顾我；我坐牢时，你们来看我。’“那些义人会回答说，‘主啊！我们什么时候见你饿了就给你吃的？见你渴了就给你喝的？见你身在异乡就接待你？见你赤身露体就给你穿的呢？我们又什么时候见你生病或坐牢，就去看你呢？’“王会回答说，‘我实在告诉你们，你们帮助我最卑微的一个弟兄，就是帮助我了。’“王又对左边的人说，‘你们这些被咒诅的人，走开！到专为魔鬼及其使者预备的永远不灭的火里去吧！因为我饥饿时，你们不给我吃的；我口渴时，你们不给我喝的；我身在异乡时，你们不接待我；我赤身露体时，你们不给我衣服；我生病时，你们不照顾我；我坐牢时，你们不来看我。’“他们会问，‘主啊，我们什么时候见你饿了，或渴了，或身在异乡，或赤身露体，或病了，或坐牢，却没有帮助你呢？’“王会回答说，‘我实在告诉你们，你们没有帮助我最卑微的一个弟兄，就是没有帮助我。’

人们出来看个究竟，到了耶稣那里，发现那曾被鬼附身的人衣着整齐、神智清醒地坐在耶稣脚前，他们都很害怕。

祂创造了我，岂不也创造了他们？岂不是同一位使我们在母腹中成胎？我何曾拒绝穷人的请求，或使寡妇眼露失望之情，或独吞我的食物，不与孤儿同享？我自幼就如父亲般抚养孤儿，我自出母胎就照顾寡妇。倘若我见有人冻得要死，或有穷人衣不蔽体，却没有把我的羊毛给他们御寒，以致他们向我道谢；倘若我仗着在城门口有势力，就动手欺负孤儿，情愿我的肩膀从肩胛脱落，我的手臂从手肘折断。因为我惧怕上帝降灾祸，我无法承担祂的威严。

如果一个丰衣足食的人看见贫穷的弟兄姊妹，却毫无怜悯之心，怎能说他爱上帝呢？所以，孩子们啊，不要单在口头上说爱人，总要以真诚的行动表现出来。
