全犹大的人民立乌西雅（“乌西雅”又名“亚撒利雅”；参王下14:21）接续他的父亲亚玛谢作王，那时他才十六岁。

以色列王耶罗波安在位第二十七年，犹大王亚玛谢的儿子亚撒利雅登基作王。他登基的时候才十六岁，他在耶路撒冷作王五十二年。他母亲名叫耶可利雅，是来自耶路撒冷的。他行耶和华看为正的事，就像他父亲亚玛谢所行的一切。只是邱坛还没有废去，人民仍在邱坛献祭焚香。耶和华击打王，他就患了痲风病，直到他死的日子。于是他住在隔离的房子，他的儿子约坦执掌朝务，治理国民。亚撒利雅其余的事迹和他所行的一切，不是都写在犹大列王的年代志上吗？亚撒利雅和他的祖先一同长眠，葬在大卫的城，和他的祖先在一起。他的儿子约坦接续他作王。

约阿施的儿子是亚玛谢，亚玛谢的儿子是亚撒利雅，亚撒利雅的儿子是约坦，

但犹大的人民把所有反叛亚们王的人都击杀了，并且立他的儿子约西亚接续他作王。

亚撒生约沙法，约沙法生约兰，约兰生乌西雅，乌西雅生约坦，约坦生亚哈斯，亚哈斯生希西家，

犹大的众民选立了亚撒利雅；他只有十六岁，他们就立他接续他父亲亚玛谢作王。
