这亚哈斯王在急难的时候，越发得罪耶和华。他向那攻击他的大马士革的神明献祭，说：“因为亚兰王的神明帮助他们，我也要向这些神明献祭，好让它们帮助我。”但那些神明却使他和全以色列败亡。亚哈斯聚集神殿里的器皿，把神殿里的器皿都打碎了，并且封锁耶和华殿的门，又在耶路撒冷各处的转角为自己建筑祭坛。

竟向天上的主自高，差人将他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、王后、妃嫔用这器皿饮酒。你又赞美那不能看、不能听、无知无识，用金、银、铜、铁、木、石造的神明，没有将荣耀归与那手中掌管你气息，管理你一切行动的神。

约阿施对众祭司说：“凡献到耶和华殿分别为圣的银子，无论是人的赎价，各人生命的赎价，或自愿献给耶和华殿的银子，

然而，有一件事我要责备你，就是你容忍那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别教唆我的仆人，引诱他们犯淫乱，吃祭过偶像之物。

那时这不法的人必出现，主耶稣要用口中的气灭绝他，以自己来临的光辉摧毁他。

她不知道是我给她五谷、新酒和新的油，又加添她的金银；他们却用来供奉巴力。因此，我要在收割的日子收回我的五谷，在当令的季节收回我的新酒，我要夺回她用以遮体的羊毛和麻。

你拿我所赐给你的那些美丽的金银宝物，为自己制造男性的偶像，与它们行淫；你拿你的锦绣衣裳为它们披上，把我的膏油和香料摆在它们面前；你把我赐给你的食物，就是我赐给你享用的细面、油和蜂蜜，都摆在它们面前作为馨香的供物。事情就是这样。这是主耶和华说的。你拿你为我所生的儿女献给它们吞噬。你的淫乱岂是小事？你竟把我的儿女杀了，使他们经火献给它们！

以斯帖说：“仇人敌人就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前非常惊惶。

我要惩罚她素日给诸巴力烧香的罪；那时她佩戴耳环和珠宝，跟随她所爱的，却忘记我。这是耶和华说的。

义人的称号带来祝福；恶人的名字必然败坏。
