『但是你肥胖了，你粗壯了，你肚滿腸肥了！耶書崙肥胖了、就踢跳，背棄了造他的上帝，辱沒救他的磐石。他們用外族人的神激了上帝的妒憤，用可厭惡的事惹了他發怒。他們獻祭給鬼魔、並不是真神，乃是他們素不認識的神，是近來新興的，是你們列祖所不畏懼的。

當伯沙撒喝酒歡暢的時候，他吩咐人將他父親尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷裏面殿堂中所掠取的金銀器皿拿來，王和大臣王后妃嬪好用這些器皿來喝酒。於是人就把從耶路撒冷裏面上帝殿中、就是殿堂中、所掠取的金銀器皿拿了來；王和大臣王后妃嬪就用這些器皿來喝酒。他們喝酒，稱頌了金銀銅鐵木頭石頭的神。

在急難時候、這位亞哈斯王對永恆主越發不忠實。他向擊敗了他的大馬色神獻祭，說：『因為亞蘭王的神幫助了亞蘭人，我也向他們獻祭，他們好幫助我。』但那些神卻使他和以色列眾人敗亡。亞哈斯將上帝殿裏的器皿收聚起來，將上帝殿裏的器皿砍壞了，又封鎖永恆主之殿的各門，在耶路撒冷的各拐角造了祭壇。

竟對着天上的主高抬自己，叫人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和你大臣、王后、妃嬪竟用這些器皿來喝酒；你又稱頌那些金銀銅鐵、木頭石頭的神，就是那些不能看、不能聽、不能知道的；至於那手中執掌你氣息、那管理你一生行程的上帝、你卻不將尊榮歸與他。

約阿施對祭司們說：『凡奉進永恆主的殿分別為聖之物所值的銀子、無論是各人被估價的銀子、就是人身被估價的銀子，或是人心裏起意要奉進永恆主之殿的銀子，

不過我有一件要責備你的，就是你容讓那婦人耶洗別；她說自己是神言人，又教導又迷惑我的僕人們去行邪淫、變節拜偶像、喫祭偶像之物。

然後那不法者才顯露出來。主耶穌必用他口中的氣殺掉他，用他御臨之顯現消滅他。

她不知道是我給了她五穀、新酒和新油，又增加了金銀給她，她卻用去製造巴力。因此到了收割時候、我必收回我的五穀；到了出酒季節、我必取回我的新酒；我必奪回我的羊毛、我的麻、就是可用來遮其赤體之物。

你又將我所給你的、我那些華美金器銀器、去為你自己製造男性的像，而跟它們行淫；你又拿你的刺繡衣服給它們遮身，並將我的膏油和香料擺在它們面前。至於我所給你的食物——我使你喫細麵、油和蜜——你卻擺在它們面前做怡神之香氣：主永恆主發神諭說。你並且把你的兒女，你所給我生的，祭獻給它們、去被燒滅。你的淫亂哪裏是小事呢？你這樣宰殺我的兒女，使他們經過火而歸於它們呀。

以斯帖說：『敵人、仇敵、就是哈曼這個壞人！』哈曼在王和王后面前立即驚惶失措。

我必察罰她拜巴力的節日向巴力燻祭的罪；那時她用她的耳環和珠寶裝飾自己，跟着她的愛人走，我呢、她卻忘了；永恆主發神諭說。

義人之遺跡蒙祝福；惡人的名字被咒詛。
