因为他们曾流圣徒和先知的血，现在你给他们血喝，这是他们该受的。”

后来，耶和华激动了非利士人和靠近古实的阿拉伯人的心，和约兰作对。

他和列王一同埋葬在大卫城里，因为他在以色列为神和神的殿作了美善的事。

于是约兰回到耶斯列去，医治他在拉末和亚兰王交战的时候所受的伤。犹大王约兰的儿子亚哈谢，(“亚哈谢”：多数希伯来文抄本作“亚撒利雅”，可能是抄写之误或“亚哈谢”的另一种写法；现根据各古译本、十多份希伯来文抄本及王下8:29翻译)，因亚哈的儿子约兰病了，就下到耶斯列去看他。

在耶路撒冷有人阴谋反叛他，他就逃到拉吉去。他们派人跟踪他到拉吉，就在那里把他杀死了。他们把他的尸首驮在马背上运回来，葬在耶路撒冷，在大卫的城里，和他的祖先在一起。

其实你已经看见了，忧患与愁苦你都已经看到，并且放在自己的手中；不幸的人把自己交托你；你是帮助孤儿的。

这些事以后，耶和华击打约兰，使他的肠脏患了不治之症。他病了很久。过了二年，他的肠子因病重流了出来，他就病死了；他的人民没有为他烧火，好像从前为他的列祖烧火一样。约兰登基的时候是三十二岁；他在耶路撒冷作王共八年；他离世的时候，没有人哀悼他。人把他埋葬在大卫城里，可是没有葬在众王的陵墓里。
