Although the Aramean army had come with only a few men, the Lord delivered into their hands a much larger army. Because Judah had forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, judgment was executed on Joash.

The army of Aram had come with only a few men. But the Lord allowed them to win the battle over a much larger army. Judah had deserted the Lord, the God of their people. That’s why the Lord punished Joash.

古实人、路比人的军队不是甚大吗？战车马兵不是极多吗？只因你仰赖耶和华，他便将他们交在你手里。耶和华的眼目遍察全地，要显大能帮助向他心存诚实的人。你这事行得愚昧；此后，你必有争战的事。” (cunps)

他们从远方来，从天边来，就是耶和华并他恼恨的兵器要毁灭这全地。 (cunps)

耶和华我的神，我的圣者啊，你不是从亘古而有吗？我们必不致死。耶和华啊，你派定他为要刑罚人；磐石啊，你设立他为要惩治人。 (cunps)

看哪，他们怎样报复我们，要来驱逐我们出离你的地，就是你赐给我们为业之地。我们的神啊，你不惩罚他们吗？因为我们无力抵挡这来攻击我们的大军，我们也不知道怎样行，我们的眼目单仰望你。” (cunps)
