Then Hazael went away from Jerusalem.

Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Now after the death of Jehoiada the princes of Judah came and paid homage to the king. Then the king listened to them.And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

Vengeance is mine, and recompense, for the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes swiftly.’

I said,“ You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.”

Then the prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him,“ Come, strengthen yourself, and consider well what you have to do, for in the spring the king of Syria will come up against you.”

The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.Mankind will say,“ Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”
