King Joash did not remember the kindness Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had shown him but killed his son, who said as he lay dying,“ May the Lord see this and call you to account.”

King Joash didn’t remember how kind Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had been to him. So he killed Jehoiada’s son. As Zechariah was dying he said,“ May the Lord see this. May he hold you responsible.”

Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada, Zechariah’s father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said,“ May the Lord see and avenge!”

That was how King Joash repaid Jehoiada for his loyalty— by killing his son. Zechariah’s last words as he died were,“ May the Lord see what they are doing and avenge my death!”

實在的，流你們的血、流你們性命之血的罪，我總要討罰的；我要向各樣走獸討罰：向人的手、向每一個人兄弟的手、討罰那害人性命的罪。

以惡報善的、惡報總不離他的家。

我初次辯訴的時候，沒有人在旁支持我；眾人都撇棄我；但願這罪不算歸於他們。

羔羊揭開了第五個印的時候，我看見祭壇底下有那些為了上帝之道、為了他們所執守的見證、而被屠殺之人的靈魂。他們大聲喊着說：『聖而真的主宰啊，你不審判、而向住在地上的人伸我們流血的冤、要等到幾時呢？』就有白袍賜給他們各人，又有話吩咐他們還要歇息一些時候，等到那些和他們同做僕人的、以及他們的弟兄、就是那些必須同他們一樣被殺的人、數目全滿。

銅匠亞力山大多多地加害於我；主必照他所行的報應他。

因為他所判罰的真實又公義：他判罰了那大淫婦、那用淫亂使地上敗壞的，他並且向淫婦手裏為他僕人們伸流血的冤。』

但萬軍之永恆主、按公義判斷的啊，試驗人心腸心思的啊，我卻要見你在他們身上加以報復；因為我已將我的案件向你稟明。

天哪，聖眾使徒和神言人哪，因那城而歡躍吧！因為上帝已為你們伸雪而判罰她了。』

耶穌應時對他們說：『我把許多由父而來的善事顯給你們看；你們為其中的哪一件要用石頭打我呢？』

其實你已經看見；因為毒害與愁苦、你都觀看，為要以手行鑒察；窮而無告者將自己放交與你；只有你是幫助孤兒的。

因為有一個行毁滅者臨到巴比倫來攻擊她；巴比倫的勇士被捉住；他們的弓斷碎了；因為永恆主是行報罰的上帝，他必定施報應。

從亞伯的血起，直到被滅在祭壇和聖所之間的撒迦利亞的血為止；實在的、我告訴你們，都要向這一代追討。

其中有一個見自己得了醫治，就回來，大聲將榮耀歸與上帝，俯伏在耶穌腳旁，感謝他；這人是個撒瑪利亞人。耶穌應時地說：『得潔淨的不是十個麼？那九個在哪裏呢？除了這外族人，不見有別人回來，把榮耀獻與上帝麼？

至於我呢、你看，我都在你們手中；你們看怎麼好、怎麼正當，就怎麼辦我好啦。不過你們要確實知道，你們若把我治死，就必使無辜人的血歸到你們和這城、以及它的居民，因為永恆主實在差遣了我到你們中間來，將這一切話傳到你們耳中。』

他們跟我作對頭來報我的愛；但我呢，我只是禱告。
