King Joash did not remember the kindness Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had shown him but killed his son, who said as he lay dying,“ May the Lord see this and call you to account.”

King Joash didn’t remember how kind Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had been to him. So he killed Jehoiada’s son. As Zechariah was dying he said,“ May the Lord see this. May he hold you responsible.”

Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada, Zechariah’s father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said,“ May the Lord see and avenge!”

That was how King Joash repaid Jehoiada for his loyalty— by killing his son. Zechariah’s last words as he died were,“ May the Lord see what they are doing and avenge my death!”

So Joash the king did not remember the kindness which Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had shown him, but he murdered his son. And as Zechariah died he said,“ May the Lord see and avenge!”

King Joash disregarded the loyalty his father Jehoiada had shown him and killed Jehoiada’s son. As Zechariah was dying, he said,“ May the LORD take notice and seek vengeance!”

Thus Joash the king didn’t remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said,“ May Yahweh look at it, and repay it.”

流你們的血、害你們生命的，我必向他們追償；無論是走獸或人類，甚至各人自己的兄弟，我必要他償命。

以惡報善的，災禍必不離開他的家。

我第一次申辯的時候，沒有一個人支持我，反而離棄我。但願這罪不要歸在他們身上。

羊羔揭開了第五個印的時候，我看見祭壇底下，有為了神的道，並且為了自己所作的見證而被殺的人的靈魂。他們大聲喊叫，說：“聖潔真實的主啊！你不審判住在地上的人，給我們伸流血的冤，要到幾時呢？”於是有白袍賜給他們各人，又有話吩咐他們要安息一會兒，等到那些與他們同作僕人和弟兄，像他們一樣將要被殺的人，湊滿了數目的時候。

銅匠亞歷山大作了許多惡事陷害我，主必按著他所行的報應他。

因為他的審判是真實公義的。他審判了那大淫婦，那以淫亂敗壞了世界的；並且為他的僕人向淫婦伸了流血的冤。”

但萬軍之耶和華啊！你是憑公義審判人，試驗人肺腑和心腸的。求你讓我看見你在他們身上施行的報復，因為我已經把我的案件向你陳明了。

天哪，你要因她歡喜！眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊，你們也要因她歡喜！因為神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。”

耶穌對他們說：“我把許多從父那裡來的善事顯給你們看，你們因哪一件要用石頭打我呢？”

其實你已經看見了，憂患與愁苦你都已經看到，並且放在自己的手中；不幸的人把自己交託你；你是幫助孤兒的。

因為有一位行毀滅的來攻擊巴比倫，巴比倫的勇士被擒住，他們的弓弩折斷了，因為耶和華是報應的神，他必報復巴比倫。

內中有一個人見自己已經好了，就回來大聲頌讚神，在耶穌腳前把臉伏在地上感謝他。他是一個撒瑪利亞人。耶穌說：“潔淨了的不是有十個人嗎？那九個在哪裡？除了這外族人，再沒有一個回來頌讚神嗎？”

至於我，我在你們手中；你們看怎樣好，怎樣對，就怎樣待我吧！不過你們要確實知道，如果你們殺死我，就必使無辜的人的血歸到你們和這城，以及這城的居民頭上，因為耶和華實在差遣了我到你們中間，把這一切話傳到你們耳中。”

他們以敵對的態度來回報我的愛；至於我，我只有禱告。
