人們離棄了永恆主他們列祖之上帝的殿，去服事亞舍拉神木和偶像。因了他們這罪過，就有上帝的震怒臨到了猶大和耶路撒冷。

They abandoned the temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped Asherah poles and idols. Because of their guilt, God’s anger came on Judah and Jerusalem.

They turned their backs on the temple of the Lord, the God of their people. They worshiped poles made to honor the female god named Asherah. They also worshiped statues of other gods. Because Judah and Jerusalem were guilty of sin, God became angry with them.

And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.

And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

見異象者哈拿尼的兒子耶戶出來和約沙法王見面，對他說：『你哪可幫助惡人、愛那恨惡永恆主的人呢？因此那出於永恆主的震怒就要臨到你了。

此後約阿施心裏有意思要重新修造永恆主的殿，

從前謝拉的曾孫亞干豈不是在該被毁滅歸神之物上不忠實，以致有上帝的震怒臨到以色列全會眾麼？那人在他的罪愆中死亡，還不只是他一人而已呢。」』

對他們說：『你們不要將俘虜帶進這裏來，因為我們已得罪了永恆主了，你們心裏還說要增加我們的罪和過犯。我們的罪過實在夠大了；已經有永恆主的烈怒臨到以色列人了。』

因此永恆主的震怒臨到了猶大和耶路撒冷，使他們成了令人不寒而慄、令人驚駭嗤笑的對象，正如你們親眼見過的。

希西家卻沒有照他所受的恩待來報答永恆主，因為他心高氣傲；故此永恆主震怒了他，也震怒猶大和耶路撒冷。

他們在各高岡上、各茂盛樹下築了邱壇，立了崇拜柱子、和亞舍拉神木。

猶大的首領如同挪移地界的人；在這班人身上我必傾倒我的震怒像水一樣。以法蓮欺壓人，蹂躪是非；因為他情願隨從虛空神。

你竟作壞事比那在你以先的更壞，去為自己立了別的神和鑄像、來惹我發怒，將我丟在背後。

他們的祭壇你們要拆毁，他們的崇拜柱子你們要打碎，他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要砍下來，

因為是我、我對以法蓮要像猛獅，我對猶大家要如少壯獅子。我，我，我必撕裂而去，我必奪去、而無人搭救。

別讓人用虛空的話欺騙你們了；因為為了這些事、上帝之義怒正臨到悖逆之人呢。

不但如此，眾祭司領袖和人民也大大地不忠實，像外國人所行一切可憎惡的事那樣；他們污瀆了永恆主的殿、就是永恆主在耶路撒冷所分別為聖的。永恆主他們列祖的上帝因為顧惜他自己的人民和居所，便又及時又屢次地警告、由他的使者經手傳出話來警告他們。他們卻直戲笑上帝的使者，藐視上帝的話，直譏誚他的神言人，以致永恆主向他人民發烈怒、到無法救治。

他重新建築他父親希西家所拆毁的邱壇，又為巴力立了祭壇，又造亞舍拉神木，並且敬拜而服事天上的萬象。他竟又在永恆主殿中為外人的神築了祭壇；這殿是永恆主曾指着說：『我的名必永遠在耶路撒冷』的。瑪拿西在永恆主之殿的兩院中為天上萬象築了祭壇。並在欣嫩子谷將兒女用火燒獻為祭，又算命，又觀兆頭，又行邪術，又行交鬼的事和巫術；多行永恆主所看為壞的事，而惹他發怒。他又將他所做雕塑物的像立在上帝殿中；這殿卻是永恆主曾對大衛和大衛兒子所羅門指着說：『是在這殿並在我從以色列眾族派中所選擇的耶路撒冷、我要立我的名到永遠的。

乃是走以色列諸王的路，使猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民變節去服事別的神，像亞哈家使以色列人變了節一樣；你並且殺死了你父親家裏比你好的眾兄弟；

永恆主又向以色列人發怒，就激動了大衛來害他們，說：『去統計統計以色列人和猶大人吧。』

所羅門年老的時候、他的妻妾使他的心偏離、去隨從別的神；他的心總不純全全地歸向永恆主他的上帝，不像他父親大衛那樣。因為所羅門隨從西頓人的女神亞斯他錄、和亞捫人可憎的神米勒公。

以色列選擇了新士師，戰爭就迫到城門口；在以色列四萬人中、竟不見有一面盾牌、一桿槍矛？

我必伸手攻擊猶大和耶路撒冷所有的居民，也必從這地方將所有的巴力連巴力祭司的名字都剪除掉到一無所剩；剪除那些在房頂上敬拜天上萬象的，剪除那些敬拜永恆主，指着永恆主來起誓、竟又指着米勒公來起誓的，剪除那些退轉而不跟從永恆主的，那些不尋求永恆主、不求問他的。』
